Star Wars: Conquest (v 0.9.0.3)  » posted under Star Wars: Conquest on Jan 04, 2011, 09:00:51 pm

I'm no longer active with this mod, but Swyter and the rest of the team are continuing to work on it. Its my understanding that they want to do a final release for M&B 1.x and then they will work on a Warband version. The best place to check for updates is probably in the forums on the ModDB page, since that is where most of them are the most active. But they often post screenshots of their current work, so this mod is still in progress as far as I'm aware.

Star Wars Conquest 0.9.0.2 was just released, this is primarily a bug fix to try and fix the random crashes on the world map that can corrupt save games. This should be saved game compatible, but will not fix a old saved game if it is already corrupted. If that is the case you will need to start a new saved game, sorry for the trouble.

Just uploaded 9.0.1 which is primarily a bug fix for 0.9.0. This SHOULD be saved game compatible so just delete/rename your old 0.9.0 folder and install this into the modules directory because it has the same name.

i've been hving a problem with my mod where it appears a error message during the "loading INI files" process that says:

rgl error: unable to open file: CommonRes/ani_walk_sideways.brf

I've only seen that error if somebody was trying to run a mod on a version of M&B the mod wasn't designed for. SWC 0.9.0 will only work on M&B 1.010 or M&B 1.011.

then most likely your download is incomplete or corrupt. Try to re-download it again, the zip file should be around 195 MB.

unfortunately, the format for the face codes changed in M&B 1.x, and I never had time to fix this. I'll update the description with the fact that this no longer works and a some notes on how to manually change them.

thanks very much for the support. :) This is an alpha/beta release so people's expectations should be pretty low. I'm just trying to get the overall concept figured out and see if people are interested in this mod. We have created new models for orcs, moredhel, dwarves, eledhel, pantathian, and tsurani and I've been posted updating on our forum. However, there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in this so I've been more focused on my Star Wars mod. But feel free to check our our forum below for screenshots and to give us some support. :)

They changed the format of parties.txt in M&B 1.x, so currently my editor does not support modifying that file and that is why it is blank. Everything else should work ok and when I get some time I hope to release a version that fixes the issue with the parties file. In terms of the undead, I haven't tested them since 0.903, so I'm not sure what is required to get them to work in the latest version.

you're right, this really isn't the page to discuss this. Please visit the official TLD forum a the link below. There is an entire thread talking about M&B 1.0 porting and they are definitely planning to update it when the final version of M&B comes out.

hmm, that sounds strange, what version of M&B? It should work fine with 0.960 but I haven't done a lot of testing. You may also have to add "display_wp_firearms = 1" to the module.ini because the firearm skill isn't displayed by default in the game? Otherwise you can try sending me a PM with a link to your troops.txt file and I could try it out.

We want to rename & move planets on the world map to create a Star Wars Map. We also hope to add more alien races, speeder bikes, weapons, and hopefully a small 3rd faction. Feel free to stop by the Taleworlds Forum to discuss this further since this is where we regularly post updates, etc.

I just realized that the boring map and lack of enemies to fight is due to the limited number of armies for each faction. I eliminated 3 factions (60 armies) but did not increase the number for the other two factions. I hope to release a quick 0.5.2 patch that will add an additional 30 armies per faction. From my testing this makes the world map a LOT better. See the Taleworlds forums for more information.

I just fixed that random crash and removed the gallop animation in this 0.5.1 release.

I believe your saved games should be compatible but you would have to manually move them to the new saved games folder. For example, C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\My Documents\Mount&Blade Savegames\Star Wars Calradia 0.5\ to ..\0.5.1\

to install this mod, the concept would be the following:

1) download this file to your computer
2) it is a ZIP file, so you will need to un-zip it. If you right-click in windows you should be able to 'extract' it, otherwise download software from winzip.com
3) Then, copy the extracted 'Star Wars Calradia 0.5' folder to your M&B Modules folder. For example, C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules\
4) once the folder is in there, you should be able to choose 'Star Wars Calradia 0.5' from the drop-down when you start M&B

send me a PM if you have any questions

Re: M&B - Unofficial Troop Editor  » posted under M&B - Unofficial Troop Editor on Apr 21, 2008, 11:56:07 am
Usually I saw these errors if I made a change to a troop that was not possible or not expected by the game. For example, giving yourself 99 power strike, making an undead female, using a " " instead of a "_" when typing a troop name, possibly giving a troop guaranteed ranged and guaranteed shield, etc. I have tried to add some data validation to my most recent version to limit some of this from happening. But basically I would be careful about changing a lot of values at once or changing them to be really high numbers that might not be possible to get when playing the game. I'd suggest restoring the original troops.txt file and only making a few changes to try and narrow down what change is breaking the game. Then, if you think its a valid change post what you changed and the error in the forum and we can do some troubleshooting. :)

Re: M&B - Unofficial Troop Editor  » posted under M&B - Unofficial Troop Editor on Apr 09, 2008, 08:08:44 am
thanks for the info. I did some testing and I think its related to one of two things:

1) trying to use two flags (ie. undead & female)
2) from reading the forum you must have "limit_hair_colors = 0" in your module.ini for undead troops to work

I just released version 1.2 of the TroopEditor which contains several new features and some fixes for these two issues above.

I don't think this is possible. I think the game overwrites the player skills when you start the game and choose the type of character you are.

hmm, thats strange. Can you give an example of what type of information you are changing? You should get a warning if you try to add more than the max number of items allowed so I don't think thats it. Some general comments...

1) I would be careful about making crazy changes with the 'troop flags'. You could turn a farmer into a 'female undead unkillable merchant with guaranteed ranged & shield' but that might really confuse the game...

2) make sure you open the items file that is associated with the game you are playing. The troops file has items by their number so if the items file was from a different game it might be confused...

3) are you modifying the native game or a mod? If so which one? You could potentially send me your troops.txt and item_kinds 1.txt and I could look at them.

Are you clicking "Update Troop" after changing each players skills as described in the README file? If you don't then the change will not be saved.

After you have modified a troop and clicked update, click on a different troop and then click back on the one you just modified. You should see the skills updated and then if you save this file as troops.txt and start a new game it should work...
