I don't think there are any Greek armors available that meet my standards- the closest is the stuff that the Vaegir wear. Llew made excellent Roman armor, but at this point I'd have to make a new faction or something to bring them in. So IDK.

There's no Japanese/Samurai faction

Good God. For some reason, I'm taking obscene amounts of damage, even with plate armor. For example, when I fight bands of looters, I'll charge with my calvary, and then get pelted with rocks, draining me of all my health. Is this the Fancy Damage system at play?

EDIT: Upgrading defensive tactics seemed to work

EDIT2: I'd like to add that I think the rate at which you're churning out the updates is awesome.
Uh... with plate? I don't suppose you did something silly, like use a savegame from 1.23? I warned ye in the release notes, lol

Oh, no, I didn't use an old savegame. I created a new game, and used control + x to get enough money to buy full gothic plate. And when I decided to heroically charge the looters with my twenty mercenary calvary, I went down under a hail of rocks.

This has happened to me all the time from 1.21 to 1.23. I haven't tried this latest version, but in those past versions, armor seems to count for nothing, as I claim to receive damage in the single digits or low-double digits, and yet I've lost easily three or four times that much. If it matters any, I'm on Mommy mode.

Great Mod.

Just one major prob, "Why do you move so FAST"?

I was coming here just to complain about this.

The only complaint I have is that everything moves way too fast on the campaign map

The crash I mentioned earlier stopped. I discovered it was apparently caused by my changing the default game's face models. Even if I replace the mod's new faces with the new model faces, it still crashes.

OK.

P.S. NEXT TIME CAN YOU EXPLAIN THINGS WITHOUT NASTY WORDS?

You aren't trying to use this in warband, are you? It's for native MnB

Oh... well that kind of ruins it for me. (Cannot play without Warband, cos I do it in Windowed mode, and native M&B's mouse doesn't stay in the window the way Warband does) :-(

I can play the native game and virtually every other mod on MAX settings just fine.
but this mod has a lot more activity on the campaign map and theres and lot more detail and all in battle map, graphics could still be an issue for a 512MB, because it couldnt get a superb framerate. just my opinion

Activity on the campaign map indeed would seem to be the issue. Is there ANY sort of fix for this at all? Some way to reduce campaign-map graphics, for example? Battles aren't laggy, virtually at all, but when I lower the graphics for the game, it doesn't affect the game.

ALso, to the other person: No, the East Roman Empire should NOT be called the Byzantine Empire. We only call it the Byzantine Empire in order to distinguish it from Rome. In actuality, they called themselves the Roman Empire, or Eastern Roman Empire

Even with the graphic settings put on low, and my computer being a high-end rig, the game moves obscenely slowly on the campaign map, and stutters in battles with more than just a few people.
what r your specs then?, i bet it cant be that good if it lags, i dont have a super computer, but i can run it at maximum graphics with no lag. even in battle

Windows 7 64-bit, AMD Athlon II x4 620 processor, 2.60 GHz
8GB RAM
combined 1.5 TB harddrive space
Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT

It's actually not laggy in battles, but on the campaign map, it's unplayable.

Just finished a full campaign, and conquered the map with my own custom Empire.

Great stuff all around, but here's some of my feedback:

- There should be a greater description of certain weapons and their effects/uses. As in, the Dragon looks exactly like a flintlock, and yet it fires "cannons" which cause huge splash damage among the lightly armored. I had no idea what a cannon was compared to bullets, and what the difference was until my next point:

- Cannons are a bit overpowered; why bother upgrading your crossbowmen to Arquebusiers when you can upgrade them to Cannoneers? Every time a battle starts and I have cannons on my side, they can butcher 10-12 people with a single shot.

- Rather limited variety of shields and one-handed non-sword weapons

- Impossible to fight like a Hoplite/Phalangite! Phalanx sarissae -are- two-handed, but they had shields strapped to their forearms. No phalangite spears or anything similar can be used with a shield. This is lame =(

- War Camels are awesome, but there's not enough varieties of them. An armored camel kataphract would be epic.

- Should be able to give some of your own lands over to your vassals at any time, rather than only being able to give one over to a companion you plan to turn into a vassal.

- Greater variety of armors, particularly female armors, pls. Also, I loved the Battle Crown, as it let me show off my pretty head without hiding my hair, but I literally only found one in the entire game. And it was great fun to find Persian and Japanese-style armors in the game, but it was only these sorts. I'd love to see armor (and weapon) styles of Greek or Roman or Indian style.

- Somewhat "Total War"-ish AI behavior. Kingdom of the Rhodoks declared war on me for no reason, twice. Kingdom of the Vaegirs declared war on me for no reason. As a positive, though, the Kingdom of the Nords were very much loyal allies, up to the point I declared war on them out of greed and stupidity.

- Should be a way for vassals to be told to take care of their fiefs, build stuff (like Watch Towers, Messenger Posts, Schools, etcetera) in their fiefs on their own, without my having to do it myself.

- I actually didn't learn this until late in the game, but at first I thought that I could only appoint my companions as vassals. Given that a single faction had some 20 lords with their own armies, and I only had between 5 and 10 vassals, I think there should either be a way to appoint new lords from among your people, or else an increase in companions you can find. Though, given that later I learned you could persuade other lords to defect to you, this can be ignored.

- Greater variety in shooty weapons, pls.

- This is without a doubt my BIGGEST problem: When an enemy besieges my castle or town, and I lead the defense, at random points, the game will have me order all units to stand ground, and all cavalry to follow me. This happens every so often, even when I order everyone to charge or to defend certain areas. If I get knocked out in the siege, it will CONTINUE issuing these orders again and again. I've literally lost a battle just because all my units were standing their ground on the castle walls, and ONE enemy unit was stuck under the siege ladder.

How do I make it run faster on the campaign map? Like, can I turn off the grass visuals and such to make it run smoother?

Why are all the cities named screamed in all caps? "You have entered the city of JERUSALEM"?

Serious time review

- Positive:

It's great fun all around. The new unit armors and stuff are very colorful and they look great on males and females alike. I LOVE THE GUNS! Very realistic in terms of hurting and reloading long and such.

The politics is great and siege battles feel very difficult with the guns and the enemies as they are

- Negative:

Very sharp lack of variety in items and armor. About 20 or 30 days into the game, I already have pretty much the best guns in the game (The Dzeferdar carbine; I've yet to find ANY rifle that is better than it in terms of speed and accuracy. The Kubura pistol; the only other pistol option seems to be the flintlock, and the Kubura gives two shots per load)

It stops being very fun when the best armor and weapons in the game are so few in number, and so easy to acquire. I'm pretty much set as I am with the two guns mentioned above, a large bag of cartridges, and a masterwork saber. I don't need anything else, because quite frankly, everything else sucks, unless I want to switch to polearms.

Muskets that are pretty much useless except for their bayonets. What the hell is this? Maybe I'm wrong since I've never bought one of them, but there are really nifty-looking muskets in the game that are simply useless to me because they can't be used to fire, but only to thrust or to swing. And I can't use them on horse. They do a lot of damage, but why even bother with the cool-looking gun if it's only purpose is to be a gigantic hilt to the tiny sword on its end?
