Daydream Demo (Warband) (v demo 1.0)  » posted under Daydream Demo (Warband) on Jan 16, 2012, 11:03:47 am
Alright, LOVED THE MOD.

I only tested the huntress, and it was a good. The archery was smooth, the aim actually DIDN'T suck (have a beef with unaltered archer) Though the invisible Ferocious spirits kinda was annoying, and the skins were so high textured, that in the last battle, my game almost crashed. So i guess it was just TOO good XD

But seriously, really looking forward to any alterations you make in the future, and DEFINATLY the completion of the mod.

Yeah some things might need tweeking a little bit but its up to Lynores`s ''appetite'' and certainly beta version will address properly most of the problems.
Theres a board in official TW forum with a lot of great suggestions that will launch mods experience much higher.
As for the weapons reach if im not mistaken theres a fix in TW forum.
Check in bug fixes above.
we register on that forum not for register on shit TW forum which doesn't like even talk about piracy
i bought original game but was really annoyed i have to use steam and stupid combination with serial numbers ,(i.e. too short)and i when said something about piracy they banned me from TW forum
f..n punchpackers

no kidding man. Same thing happened to me. I downloaded the original game onto steam, but when my old laptop crashed and i had to get a new computer, my steam account messed up and registered the game was gone. Steam didn't give two fucks about my game, so i pirated the game, me being not willing to buy it a second time. Actually, same thing happened with my Left 4 Dead 2.....now i won't touch steam >.>

Alright, first off, what i absolutly love about this mod.

1. SPARTANS!!!!!...nough said, right there X3
2. I love how all the weapons are actually NOT just a retexture, with the exact same stats.
3. Probably the thing i love most, is the new polearm Stab animation. This makes taking out calvery so much easier, and definatly more fun then the native version X3
4. The huge ass shield <3
5. The map size, in addition to the nice amounts of enemies available to fight.

Unfortunatly, i have quite a few issues with this as well.
1. Shields. When i try to block with the bigger round shields, archers and throwers more often then not manage to hit me anyways, even when i turn blocking to automatic. THis is highly annoying, and makes shields basically useless except for shield bashing. Which brings me to my second point.
Shield Bashing. Granted, amazing concept, and major kudos for actually developing it. However, i hate...HATE...that in this mod. Charging a group of enemies is useless. My character was a fighter, ten in health and whatnot, excellent armor, and charged a group of enemies ahead of my spartans. I got shield bashed so many times i literally couldn't stand up, and actually died thanks to being shield bashed to the point that i couldn't move. This one thing makes attacking the cities a Major pain in the ass, as your hero can't really participate thanks to above reasons. That being said, i do enjoy quite a bit about this mod just...these two glitches or things make the mod rather unenjoyable to play through.

I`ve read a few complaints about shield bashing in TW forum but personally never had a problem.
I use to combat in a squared rank formation and not charging alone the enemy.
For me its the best addition to combat realism in this mod.

I consider it unrealistic for a mortal to charge alone opponents ranks and manage to take them down all by himself and it wouldnt fit properly to that time-frame fighting style.
Been outnumbered only means that you should combat with your mind also and avoid been seperated from your soldiers.
After all this isnt a fantasy mod but tries to correspond as much as accurate to specific time-frame battles.

I dont know...maybe a little tweeking or SB disable option would help others enjoy this mod too but i personally like it as it is.
Also in sieges a couple of more ladders would really help the battle to evolve in a more natural way than been stuck and get slaughtered by enemy archers before reach the walls.
(DAMN !!!...i cant wait for beta :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: )

I suppose that's true. However, i also find it unrealistic to have to stab a enemy soldier four times to kill them with a spear, when i kill calvery with one. Its just. I don't mind shield bashing, if it didn't happen all the time, but after i died, and i pulled back to watch through the battle cam, i saw the front lines literally falling down every two seconds because everyone was shield bashing. Also the short reach of almost every weapon kinda sucked, but that i could live with.
I have a question about this. Is Moria still not done yet? When i start as the elves men or dwarves, and try to infiltrate Moria, i get to the inner hall through the secret passage, but after that its completely and utterly Black inside, to the point i just wander around. Is there a fix for this? My thought was we had to earn the Phial of Galadrial, and return there, but i haven't earned enough to get it just yet.

Secondly, and i know you just released this, and i'd love to see more updates for this *HUGE LOTR FAN* but is there any chance of porting this to warband?

If not, i don't care, i reinstalled MnB JUST for this mod, that shows how much i freaking love this <3

Thirdly, is it possible to change your attack direction to be movement keys like in warband? or is that pretty much no?

Lastly....holy..crap...you guys, did an AMAZING job. I went to Minas Tirith honestly expecting shoddy remeshes, or not even remeshes at all, and then i appeared on a blank field. First thought as i start riding forward was, "Wow...this is bullshit, i can't believe...i...." And then I saw it...the White City....not gonna lie, i teared up and almost started crying at seeing just how awesome and well done you did this. Please, please please put more patches into this if possible, and i'll assist any way i can, though...i have no skills T.T...just don't let it die, i'm beggin yah!
