Well it so happens that I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and the game worked fine. I use the tool setting it to 150 and the same thing happened, I very much think it does have something to do with the tool.
Your anecdotal experience notwithstanding, the battle size value changed by this tool is a core part of the game which this tool simply allows a larger value to be set for. If the value is set back down to a lower level in the normal range that is allowed within the game (using this tool or the in-game configuration menu either one), the same single value is modified. That's it. Nothing else is touched. This is regardless of whatever you
think happened on your end.

I've obviously done that, but no matter at what size I put it the bandits keep having 2000+ soldiers
If you've done it correctly, then it's nothing to do with this tool.

A tip, you can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to increase/decrease the battle size by 1.

that's right, it uses WarKit, but I think I know the problem:

In that case, if you want an installer, there's always this one I made which uses the NSIS installer system:
http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=46
Minor detail: it's actually spelled "Calradia" rather that "Caldaria" unless you intended to change it for some reason.
If the file is not meant for the public, it specifically belongs in the "Protected" category. Thanks.
EDIT: I went ahead and moved this one over to the proper category; you can handle the rest.

Just to be sure, what version of Warband are you running, and what version of the Battle Size Changer? When you start Warband, it should show the version in the upper right of the initial window, and the version of the Battle Size Changer should be shown up in the title bar of it.
warband is 1.113 and battle sizer is 1.112+
Not that it's relevant here, but v1.126 of Warband is available.
What version of the Battle Size Changer is it? As I said, the version is in the title bar, at the very top. You gave the detected Warband version there, which is at the bottom.

You already said it was set at 150 in-game. So again, when you run the Battle Size Changer again afterward, what value does it start off set at? 500 or 150?
stealth banana wrote:
1. did that
2. did that with no error messages

When you run the Battle Size Changer again, what value is it initially set at now? 500 or 150?

OK, so do this to clarify what problem you're having:
1. Don't have Warband running to begin with.
2. Run the Battle Size Changer and set it to 500, presumably with no error messages given, and then save and exit.
3. Run Warband and go into the Options screen.
What is the Battle Size listed as on this screen? It should be listed as 500, as long as you don't click on the slider which would set it back into the normal range.

Is there any virus in this sizer???
EDIT:Like a TROJAN???
Is that actually a serious question? If so: no.
If you want to check such a thing for any file, the VirusTotal site is your friend. For example:
http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/d9d44673ed55637c60bc7783d95a873cb7ebc0eee63eddbaab2bef6a72909a75-1278844591
If you get 0-2 antivirus programs in the list of ~41 there showing a file as a virus or trojan, chances are it's nothing to worry about. Any more than that and you might want to be careful with it.
EDIT: but I expect you knew that, having now checked your IP against the official TW forums out of curiosity and finding that I banned you over there for piracy. Nice try, though.

I hope it will work with all versions 'cause Warband updates allmost every week.
The methods for determining the installation path and the installed version haven't changed since the original Mount&Blade (stored in the registry, or in the case of Steam, the Steam pseudo-registry), so i don't think there's anything to worry about there.
Hmm, oops. Looks like the decimal fix in 1.4 didn't cut it after all; 1.4.1 is now released which should really fix it this time. Sorry about that.
OK, with the assistance of a helpful forumite over on the TaleWorlds forum, I've tracked down and fixed the problem some people were having. It was related to the user locale's decimal separator being a comma (",") instead of a period or full stop ("."), which was confusing it.
Additionally, I've improved Steam installation support. It doesn't appear I can detect the Warband installation path from Steam like could be done with the original M&B, but I did set it up to check the default Steam installation path which
should work for pretty much all Steam users.
So, that's version 1.4 released. If you had no problems whatsoever with version 1.3, there's no real reason to update to 1.4; otherwise, 1.4 should take care of any problems you were having.

yes it show the same battle size. i tried to change it to something 300 just to test it. i saved and quited ad i opened the battle size changer again and it showed 300. then i started warband and the battle size was back to 150. strange :/
OK, so the Battle Size Changer is consistently showing the last saved battle size right up until you run Warband, which sets it back to 150?
Try setting the battle size to something lower using the Battle Size Changer (again something like 96, 37, whatever) and check again to see if it's changed back to 150 or whatever by Warband itself. That will determine if Warband is somehow rejecting any battle size changes or just those which are out of its normal range.
Also, again, what version of Warband are you running? It should show on the startup screen in the upper right. I've been testing on 1.104 and one version before that... I think it was 1.102.
EDIT: additionally I've tested it in 1.105 now, and it's working for me there too.

i use vista 32bit and steam release of warband....
OK, I just tested in a Vista 64-bit VM (close enough) with copies of the Warband appdata files and it worked fine. I also tried setting the configuration file to read-only in case that was somehow happening, but the Battle Size Changer correctly popped up an error indicating it was locked. Renaming the file likewise resulted in an error.
Hmm, quite strange. The utility seems to be reading successfully from the file in your case, and as far as it sees it is successfully writing the new battle size back out to the config file since it doesn't give you an error message.
A couple of things I'd like you to check then, starting with a quick question. When you run Warband and lower the battle size to an arbitrary value in the middle (96, 37, whatever), then exit Warband and run the Battle Size Changer, is it reporting the same battle size as you just set?
OK then. If you can bring yourself to fight through the bullshit for just a bit more, could you tell me what version of Windows you are on, what version of Warband (and if it's the Steam release, though I doubt that makes a difference), or any other details you think might help figure it what the problem is? Anything that might help narrow it down, since it works fine for me and at least some others.
I have to say though, I do sometimes wonder why I bother.
moe12 wrote:
it happens when i save ad quit the battle sizer. and no i dont touch the battle size slider in the game. and no again, no error messages
Hmm... are you running Warband and the Battle Size Changer at the same time, or just the Battle Size Changer without Warband running in the background?
moe12 wrote:
I download and install without problems but when i save and quit it always reset to 150
It happens when you save and quit with this utility, or when you save and quit Warband itself? You're not touching the battle size slider within Warband itself, right? That
will change the battle size back to one within the usual bounds of the game.
Also, there are no error messages given, right?

If you have something even remotely useful to say, such as "I ran antivirus program X and it indicates it is a trojan.Z", feel free. Otherwise, just like the other guy, go be a rude, ungrateful, ignorant dipshit somewhere else than on my site.
EDIT: though on a re-running of it on Virustotal, now AVG has joined Symantec in giving a false positive. Of course, if you use AVG, you should be quite used to getting false positives by now, since it seems to love giving them.

You should probably get a different decent free antivirus instead which doesn't always give false positives. I use Avast myself, though lately I've heard very good things about Avira.

Beg pardon? Are you indicating this file has a virus? Nope:

Looks like Symantec is showing a false positive on it, though.
Go be a dumbass somewhere else, thanks.

The most common cause of that error is that the version of M&B the mod was created for is not the version of M&B which you installed it to. This mod is for 1.010/1.011, as it indicates in the box at the upper right. Is that the version of M&B you installed it to?
Also, please try to act less like a twat in your comments, thanks.

It likely was a problem related to the recent site+database conversion messing up the stored filename. I've gone ahead and fixed your listing, so the filename is now correct.
1. Make sure to have run M&B at least once so the configuration data files are created.
2. Make sure M&B is not running when you use this tool.
3. Run this tool, choose your desired battle size, then save and exit.
When you next run M&B, the desired battle size will be set (which can be confirmed on the options screen).
Translation: I'm guessing he's trying to say that your new textures make M&B run horribly slow for him.
I couldn't say one way or the other, I'm just guessing what he's talking about.
Rather nice, very well drawn.
