File History
remember to read the README!!!.TXT file for changes between versions

Sat, Jul-01-2006

removed the stupidAI arquebus since the AI seems to get it now that arquebuses are weapons :P

Sat, Jul-01-2006

added womanface_dark.dds to the file, sorry about that

Mon, Jul-03-2006

added war system, fixed lords (only tlaxcaltec and mexica lords give quests for now)
removed horses from all cities but veracruz
removed items and horse gathering quests
updated some troop abilities (no more dumbass arquebusiers)
updated some models

Sun, Jul-16-2006

- fixed bug of spaniards still attacking tlaxcaltecs when a spaniard player would sign an alliance with
Tlaxcala
- lowered chances of balanced (mostly axes and spears)items appearing in almost every battle
- updated dart model, a completely new one was built after the picture of a real dart which looks more like an oversized slim arrow than a javelin
- doubled horses' charge and armor rates
- rebalanced dart to be more powerful (after reading an article about authentic replicas I learned that they could fly at maybe 100mph, that's 160km/h and something traveling at that speed would certainly cause a LOT of damage)
- doubled the chances of native troops carrying macuahuitls (1h and 2h)
- removed spears and axes from archers' inventories
- lowered amounts of deserters respawned
- lowered chances of horsemen refreshing in Veracruz
- fixed town guards and added some to veracruz
- remade jaguar, eagle, green and yellow armors
- remade and reskined jaguar helmet
- added bows and arrows to bandits' inventories
- implemented random events engine, currently including smallpox, malaria and small facion "healing"!
- added NPC alliances: if you weaken a faction without allying yourself with another one, after a while they'll declare an alliance to destroy yours!

Mon, Sep-04-2006

v.0.20
- added new armet mesh
- added new red huaxtec armor and helmet

- added diego velazquez's army + event + quest and reward
(only for spaniards or their allies, happens about a week after the game starts)
- added a few quests from cortes
- added spanish faction rank ladder.. with a big reward when completed ;)
- added pope's new helmet meshes
- changed a few dialogues

known issues:
- naked troops running around: all those NPC who'll be kicked out of the mod were stripped so you may very rarely find them running around naked (and getting slaughtered of course):P
- no quests from neutrals
- malintzin and cuauhtemoc are still missing
- the witch was taken out, might include her back later
- the 4 ways inn, the salt mines and the forts are is still laying about

Little bug :D  » posted by AsGarath on Mar 06, 2006, 07:29:33 am
When i was playing this mod i found out a nice little bug :-) : In the beginning i had a rifle (?) and a cartridge with 40 ammo... but after i had played it little longer, i found out that after 40 shots u dont do anything with that cartridge... The most funny thing is that u simply can?t get any more ammo :-) . I looked for every town but didn?t find anymore ammo... :-) ... otherwise this mod is good but u shud fix that problem into ur next release...

that wasn't a bug, there actually was a guy who'd give you ammo for free if you asked him, that however is history, there's no such thing in the new version since arquebus (cartridges) ammo regenerates normally

LOVE this mod! There are issuse with it though; it some times crashes back to desktop when it loads up a new map eg. at start of a battle, or going into the tavern etc. I cant see any pattern to it, so I'm not sure what causes it. T'is a great mod though, and I'm look forward to the next update :)

NOT gonna happen, el Zorro setting is somewhere in the 1800s in California, that's 300 years later so forget it.

Fantastic mod! I love this time period and history anyways, and this mod so far does an excellent job. Love the new weapons and armor, and I'm sure more appropriate looking towns will eventually follow, I can't wait to see Tenochtitlan. Though, one thing that bothers me, and it bothered me with other mods like Onin no Ran, is the super high armor and weapon damage ratings. It seems to make the mod too easy because armored individuals can take seemingly limitless hits and kill unarmored individuals with a single blow. But, that's just me, I still really enjoy this mod and can't thank the contributers enough for the work. Maybe we will also see some new characters? I've only found Bernal Diaz so far, I don't know if there is anyone else, but it would be cool to get maybe a Friar who can help heal wounds and maybe a native scout to assist in movement and tracking. Thanks again.

Fantastic mod could well be the best ive played seems to be well balanced, some bugs i think ??.When i get a quest from the spanish leader that says the tex guys are made weaker,i speak to spanish leader he says go talk to there leader and make a deal or something when i talk to mes or tex leaders it says you havent finnished the code yet ??.Does that mean your still working on the story ?? and its not a bug ??.I cant get anymore missions if i have this quest and cant finnish this quest so its the end of the game :(.But please keep working on this its got real promise and is still great fun as it is.

The last thing is the spanish helm called marion ?? the troops in the city's have a real nice high poly version of this helm, but the store's only seem to sell a REAL bad low poly version is this correct ???,anyway good work and hope you continue this mod :D

Thank you all for your kind words, that is the main fuel for keeping this mod alive.
I'll continue developing (and bug fixing it) as soon as the next m&b version is out. For the time being feel free to post comments and suggestions on the mbx board, I promise I'll take them all into consideration (I always have and always will ) ;-)

By the way, about that ugly morion, you're probably buying a battered, a crude or a cracked one, the plain morion is different and also the reinforced one has a plume and looks a bit more elegant. You might have noticed some weapons when not in good shape look exactly bent, chipped or rusty so it's the same kind of thing hehehe

Well it say's im just using 1.0, but i've had trouble with some mods that would remind me pre-installation that i was using a later version that the mod could work on...
Edit, i just updated, but it still says the same thing...

This mod was made for version 0.808, it won't work on later releases.

Unique MOd, best compliments!!!
I lately found out how to play old mods.
I appreciate a lot historical works like this and I am enjoyning it even if it is a .808 version.
I am trying to mod some things and I'd like to upload your work with some modification, if you don't mind.
Do you think I can transfer your Items and Characters/quests at least to .1011? Any suggestions??
Ehhmmm.....you' d never consider doing it for us fans of history????
Complimenti e saluti dall'ITALIA
Ciao e......Gracias por la MOD
