Description
By Popular Request, I bring you 'Mount & Blade Assasin'.

I have recieved several requests to release this mini-mod. Originally developed for personal use, I have touched it up a bit, and released it earlier today.

The mod adds the mechanics and adjustment necessary to become an assasin type individual inside the features and adventures of the native game. New Assasin robes and weapons with tweaked and enhanced gameplay made this mod fun for personal use, and now available for public use. Enjoy!

INSTALL

To install, extract this file Assasin.zip into your Mount & Blade Module folder, and you should be set to go.

Features
  • - New Assasin Robe, designed to get you in close and personal to do your dirty work.

  • - New damage calculation for the Assasin Dagger, to accurately reflect the fatal consequences of recieving a dagger in the chest.

  • - New damage realism calculation for Throwing Daggers, to increase appropriate level of lethality.

  • - Adjusted Characters in the game to further distinguish the uniqueness of the assasin trade.

  • - After you answer the initial native background questions on a new character you will recieve your tools of the trade (which can be upgraded at merchants).

  • - When you sneak around in an enemy town, you will use your assasin robe.

  • - Minor graphic adjustments and enhancements.

  • - Brought back the legendary Black Knight Armor (with legendary stats), available at merchant shops.

File History
Only version launched so far. No plans to launch another version. All work being put in on a totally different Major, REAL Mod.

Fri, Jul-25-2008

Updated the following items:
-Black Knight Armor Set (minor price changes and made it more 'rare')

-Assasin Clothing Set (major price change, making it the most expensive and the rarest of all in-game items to find in the market).

Fri, Jul-25-2008

Updated patch version with full version, made the installation a little simpler (see new installation notes).

i like it, but you made the black armor worst than the assassin armor, so yuou can just equip all your cmopanions with the assassin armor for about 1395807 thuosand less money.

You know you are right, those values for the black armor vs the assasin suit could definitely be improved. DONE. See new notes for 1.01

Thanks! I may do a more complete mod with new missions, corrected spellings (lol) etc., later on, but right now, unless some serious problems or mistakes are discovered, all of my modding work is going towards my new full major mod on the Age of David.

 Mount & Blade Assasin (Mini-Mod (v 1.01)  » posted by GariettBD on Dec 29, 2009, 01:14:50 pm
I have down loaded and installed the Assassin's mini mod in the Modules folder but it crashes each time. I was going to contact the author but didn't see a link to a email. The game starts to load the INI file and then gives the error sound. Press the Windows key and a error box named RGL error appears. The message is "Unable to open file: CommonRes\human_anim.brf". Click OK and the game closes. Please pass this along or send me a message where I can reach the author.

Any help would be appreciated!! :-(

Hi GariettBD. I've been able to simulate that crash, it would seem that the problem is that you are trying to run the mod on a new version of the game. The mod was designed for M&B version .960 . Let me know if this doesn't help, send me a PM, and I'll update the file, comment, support, etc as needed.

Yes, That is correct. Thanks, I didn't realize that it was for the older version. I wonder if one can run the older version in another directory on the same computer?

You can run older versions in a different directory with no problem. I do it all the time, just make sure you make distinction in the desktop icons.
