Description
This corrects the alphas of several shields and all missiles and armors, making their metal parts shiny, as they should be.

Tired of those hauberks looking like wool pullovers?
try this thing! :D

decompress the dds files into your Mount&Blade\Textures\ folder
decompress the brf files into your Mount&Blade\CommonRes\
folder


Features
  • fixed shields.dds
  • fixed missiles.dds
  • fixed materials.brf
  • fixed all costumes_c.brf
  • fixed alphas of costumes9, costumes12 and costumes13
  • changed shader of all metal armors to use the iron shader
  • fixed alphas of costumes4.dds and costumes6.dds
  • changed costumes_b.brf and revised costumes_c.brf

revised and adjusted materials.brf. Everything should be working properly now :D

Added costumes 1, removed redundant brfs (only materials.brf will be included this time).
Fixed alpha of warhorse and adjusted charger and warhorse shader settings.

ported to 0.902, not sure if it's needed, but you never know :D

Wed, Dec-12-2007

removed everything save costumes4.dds, missiles.dds,warhorse.dds and materials.brf since everything else seems to have been corrected by armagan

What render method are you using?
Have you enabled the shaders in the configuration box?
Is your graphics card shader-capable?

well I know its shader cabable but the computer runs INSANLY slow when I turn shading on ingame.

try using directx7 render method if even so it is too slow, update your graphics drivers, if it is still slow, you'll need another graphics card to run the game with shaders, without them my fix is useless.

This small detail makes a huge difference in the enjoyability factor of this game. Thanks a ton! Fighting at night is very cool with this mod, especially watching all the shiny arrowheads fly by.

guspav about the leather armors they also shine like the metal ones did you do that intentionally?

That's really odd, I just checked all costumes files and none of their alphas seem wrong to me, s'pecifically what leather armor are you talking about?

guspav sorry about that everything works fine now after reinstalling Mount & Blade it was good it was only the result of my experiment by mixing other textures of mods thats why it came to that having shiny leather armor hehe sorry for the inconvenience :-(

all shields using the shields.dds texure were opaque, all missiles metal parts are reflective now, chain armor using costumes4.dds (chain shirt and heraldic armor and lamellar armor)were opaque, they are shiny now also the warhorse and charger were opaque and are shiny now. BTW if you were using directx7 you were not going to see any shinyness, with my fix you will.
