Description
Set after the Swadian victory in the War, this mod includes the land of Kherge, the City-State of Harlaushia and part of Geroia...
Khergit v Calradian factions to join.
Other un-joinable factions.
Juicy bonuses for aceepting river pirate quest BUT recruitment only from 4 cities until you reach Sergeant in faction rank.
lots of bonus NPCs in return for glorious deeds.
heraldry assigned when you make Knight (Lords wear their heraldry or hang it on walls in castles. You get the heraldry of whichever Lord knights you.) This heraldry is then distributed to your top-tier troops.


Features
  • Other features:
    big map with lots of parties spawning
    Warbands and prisoner trains spawn around ENEMY towns, leading to random clashes all over the map.
    Bonus wp proficiency points every time you win a round with the trainer.
    Fully developed, playable Khergit faction versus united 'Calradian'(=Vaegir/Swdian) faction.
    Vaegirs and Swadians retain seperate upgrade trees.
    Recruitable Sea Raiders.
    Non-playable factions for Sea Raiders (= Northmen) Geroians and Harlaushians.
    Lots of castles, inc 6xvillages which are placeholders for next M&B version.

I constantly get an error upon launching:

"Unable to find module music."

Checked out the music file, it's all custom music (not bad, either). I suspect something was missed out in the scripting - not that I know anything about modding.

Or I messed up the installation?

Copy and paste according to the creator of the mod:
I'll look into that. For a quick fix, just copy your native M&B music folder into the 'steppe raiders' fodler, replacing the module music folder.

Known bugs/issues.

When you start a new game you will get an error saying that skill level greater than stats max
(or something similar).
Press ignore. It will ONLY ever appear, once, when you start a NEW game.


Map tile errors: It hasn't happened in several hours of testing the most recent version, but I used to get a lot of map tile errors. Again, ignore them and keep going if they do occur.

Tavernkeepers in the 'ferry' towns. They are not yet in game, so DON'T accept any quests to deliver to Westferry or Eastferry! Unless you are going to flog the cargo...


Inconsistency: Some people still talk about vaegirs rather than khergits!!

Another bug in the arena, an RGL error:
get_object failed for: leathers

I think you should fix all this.

One way to fix the bugs before starting the game is by copying a music.txt from another mod into this mods folder, and editing the Modules file, removing the line:
load_mod_resource = sbtai_plate

I also added a space in the line: load_mod_resource =gauntlets
to make it:
load_mod_resource = gauntlets

I am not sure if the last step is required to make it work.

IMPORTANT! Before editing make a backup of the original file.

After playing for about an hour i've encountered numerous bugs, most of them have to do with equimpent, Armor in particular, and when travelling. When you try to start as a female, with the bottom class(Forgot name), you will get a bug once you get ingame, describing a female armor piece, terminating your game. When you talk to an armor salesman, you can get an ignorable bug(up to several times). When you travel over the map, you may sometimes get an ignorable bug(every few minutes for me so far), detailing mountainmesh or something. When talking to the arena master and signing up for a tourney you will get a bug that terminates your game.
Also, the traveling speed is insanely high, its very hard to keep track if you move even the slightest bit, of what happens around you, the initial spotting range is ridiculous, even at spotting 10 I could see about as far as I normally could in vanilla, not saying its a bug, but I dont like it.

Thanks for the feedback. I've posted a bugfix for the music and for the sbtai_platechaincovered
errors.

Antiga - when you removed the get mod resource for sbtai_plate, you removed all the custom armours for female troops. If you put it back in & add the 2 bugfix files, this should sort things out.


The leathers... Should be fixed now. Only in Arena, or did it occur in any other context?


Re. map speed - I set it fast cos the map is so big... You can easily change it in the 'module' settings textfile. If you're not sure how just pm me and I'll explain...

Hiya.

I'm getting lots of bugs here, way more than I have for any other mod I've played. At least one bug crashes the game, but most are OK if you ignore them. I have no idea of what effects this will have on the later stages of the game though.

I'm tallying them up in the patch comments section, so as to not overload this section.

Please keep an eye on it and fix!!
