In 1992, Microprose made a computer RPG called Darklands which is a cult classic. Set in the Holy Roman Empire of the 15th century, it's basically medieval Germany where everything the peasants believed is true. It's an unbelievably deep, immersive look at the middle ages. Its tagline: In medieval Germany, reality is more horrifying than fantasy. Fans have entreated the company to release the source code for ages, to no avail.

Looks very nice. Small problem though, while pressing Q for Quest, the game freeze and while exiting to windows, message says: RGL error: too many quests

Yes, thanks. See the linked homepage associated with this mod to go to the MBX thread with bug reports and stuff; that one has been found, and should be fixed in 0.1b. The mod has no quests as such, yet; simply avoid hitting Q until 0.1b is released.

To all: I'd much prefer to receive bug reports or commentary there, than here. I'll check here, but not often.

I "discovered" mount and blade a few days ago and your mod this week-end, i think sincerely it is great!!! (i play always daklands!!!) and i wait wth an enormous "impatience" the "sequel" and "improvement" of your mod...
How can i know when a new release come?

Le version v0.2 n'a aucune date promise, mais quand j'ai une meillure idee, j'le posterai la-bas.

Maybe it's just me, but... is this INCREDIBLY hard?
When I start out playing, I find that if I stumble into a battle, it's me and my (useless) sister against 7+ enemies, and unless a miracle occurs, they will win and rob you blind! OK that they steal stuff from your inventory and some cash, but the shirt off my back and my weapons? This means that unless you win your first battle, you will have less gear than you had when you lost your first one and NO cash to buy new equipment, since you start the game with almost nothing! And what happens when you manage to solo those 7+ enemies in that second encounter, as I did? Looting my enemies as they did me? No. "You got 49 denars". Sadly, it seems to be the only way I can make money in this mod...
I've played 20+ mods so far (maybe 30?), and this is by far the most frustrating one. Not only because I reek at it - but because the concept shows so much potential if done right. But as the mod is now - it's hardly playable. Letting the player keep equipped goods and give better rewards for defeating bad guys would go a long way. Maybe let the player start off with better equipment?

its a good game but i was entering a city on it and it just went wierd...........the brown background came up and it said on the right hand side tracking party skill (1) and it wouldnt let me play HELP PLZ!!!!! :hammer:

I used to play Darklands all the time. I was so disapointed that they never created extra mods for it. Keep up the good work. :-D

I LOVED Darklands, my all-time favourite rpg.

I loved Darklands. So I want to see what was done :) but...
uhm :roll: can't get the mod to work just by installing it. And 14 MB is quite small. Are there any more files and where can I get them?
