Game and Features

Story:
Some of the ancient gods of the greatest warriors ever to walk the face of the earth decided to have a contest. The contest was a challenge of conquest, in which the greatest warrior city or nation of each god fought in a land created specifically for that purpose. Each of the 6 gods could bring their greatest people to battle, and so they did. Odin brought the Nordic warriors from Valhalla, Zeus and Hercules decided to bring the Spartans, Jupiter and Mars decided on the Romans, Babd Caltha brought the Gauls, and Begtse brought the Mongols.
Each of these groups was under their greatest military leaders of their civilization. These great rulers’ names were Gaius Julius Caesar, Genghis Kahn, King Leonidas, Ali Ummayad, Vercingetorix, and Bagsecg. With everything lined up by the gods of old, the ultimate battle begins. You decide your own path, you choose your destiny, and you alone are able to see which of the greatest civilizations of all history will prevail.

Faction Info:
Faction: Leader: Original Faction:
1. The Arabian Empire Ali Ummayad Sarranid Sultane
2. The Nords Bagsecg Nords
3. The Roman Empire Gaius Julius Caesar Swadians
4. Mongolian Empire Genghis Kahn Kerghit Khanate
5. The State of Lacedaemon King Leonidas Rhodoks
6. Gauls Vercingetorix Vaegir

Equipment:
1. Arabs: (Scimitars, Nomad Vests/Robes, Small shields, cloth head coverings, etc.)
2. Nords: (Viking Weaponry in Warband by default. Attempt to add Wolf Lorica!*)
3. Romans: (Ancient Roman Hamatas, Segmentas, etc. Greek/Roman Greaves, Leigo/Praetor/Cent Helms. Roman Square Scutum, Oval Scutum, Early Scutum, and Cavalry Scutum.)
4. Mongols: (Mongolian weaponry in Warband by default. Attempt to add Elite Mongol Horse.)
5. Spartans: (Ancient Corinthian/Spartan Armor, Weapons, Hoplons. & Bronze Spears. Elite Bodyguard Hoplon for “Elite Spartan Bodyguard”)
6. Britons, Saxons, Picts, or Gauls: (Barbarian Weapons. Use items in Warband.)

Mercenary Changes: ****
1. Hired Blade = Elite Spartan Bodyguard
2. Mercenary Swordsman = Praetorian Guard
3. Mercenary Horseman = Teleu Shieldbearer?
4. Mercenary Cavalry = Teleu Guard?
5. Mercenary Crossbowman = Veteran Longbowman

Mercenary Equipment: *****
1. Black Cuirass, Black Greaves, Laconian Sword, Dory/Spear (Throwing and Handheld), Elite Bodyguard Hoplon.
2. Square Scutum, Greek Greaves, Pilum, Spatha, Gladius, Praetorian Segmenta, Praetorian Helmet
3. ???
4. ???
5. War Bow, Smaller shield, at least 60 arrows, and a short sword or hatchet for close quarters.

Specialized Skills:
1. More agility and riding to Mongols, Arabs, and the barbarians.
2. High horse archery and power draw for Mongol Horse Archers.
3. Higher strength and slightly higher agility for Romans and Spartans
4. Tougher shields for Spartans and Romans.
5. Roman “Siege” type skills very high, for faster sieges.
6. Spartan “Battle” skills (Tactics, ironflesh, power strike, power through, one handed and polearm weapon proficiency) for faster battles against enemies.
7. Stronger, faster soldiers for Nords. Mainly one handed and two handed weapon proficiencies. Higher ironflesh and power strike.

Troop Notes:
1. Weaker archers for the Romans and Spartans especially.
2. Mongols need the stronger archers since they do not have as great an infantry branch.
3. Nords need a small, powerful branch of archers that can act as weaker Huscarls for close quarters battles.
4. The Barbarian Faction needs to have a well-rounded branch of troops. Ex: Fast infantry, powerful cavalry, and fast archers with a shorter range.
5. Arabs need to be like Nomads, with fast, light cavalry wielding scimitars, and less burdened infantry. Archers would be well rounded, but not as good as the Nomads or Cavalry

Footnotes: * = Misc Note for Reference
**State of Laconia: The City-State Sparta and the areas it governed.
***Gauls or Britons: Gauls = Germanic Tribes that invaded Rome. Britons = Saxons, Picts, Angles, and Britons.
****Mercenary Changes: No Mercenary Troop Tree. What you hire is what you get.
*****Mercenary Equipment: Changes made to default equipment of Mercenaries to make them more like one group. Ex: Spartan Equip on the Spartan Bodyguard, Roman Equip on Praetorian Guard, etc.
*Mercenaries should cost 300% (3x) the normal troop.
*Mounted troops should be 150-200% (1.5-2x) the cost of the normal troop.
*Companions should be paid 150% (1.5x) the normal troop.
*Garrisoned troops paid 40-50% (0.4-0.5x) normal wages.
*Siege Towers should move 2-4 times faster than normal, to speed up sieges.
*Specialized Skills are for fun gameplay, causing a more realistic feel to the real time periods of the people.
*The Addition of Sea Battles and Bridge Battles would add to the fun of Nords (Sea/Lake/River Battles) and Spartans (Close quarters Phalanx on a bridge).
*Replace current arena/tourney weapons with new mod items. Roman Shields, Spartan Swords, Mongol lances, Arab horses, etc. To make a fast paced arena match or tournament because of the wide variety and fast moving people/horses/camels.
*Get camels for the Arabs

As of now, I am working on my very first to major module project.
Warriors of the Gods for Warband

I am awaiting permission for the use of some materials for Warriors of the Gods that have yet to be implemented, and if all goes as planned, I hope to have it out within the next couple of months.

Other than the permissions I am lacking, here is what I planned. :)

The Story:

Some of the ancient gods of the greatest warriors ever to walk the face of the earth decided to have a contest. The contest was a challenge of conquest, in which the greatest warrior city or nation of each god fought in a land created specifically for that purpose. Each of the 6 gods could bring their greatest people to battle, and so they did. You decide your own path, you choose your destiny, and you alone are able to see which of the greatest civilizations of all history will prevail.

The Factions and leaders:

Faction:

>Original Faction:
>Leader:
1. The Arabian Empire
>Sarranid Sultane
> Ali Ummayad
2. The Nords
>Nords
>King Bagsecg
3. The Roman Empire
>Swadians
>Gauis Julius Caesar
4. Mongolian Empire
>Kerghit Khanate
>Genghis Kahn
5. The State of Lacedaemon--->Rhodoks
>King Leonidas
6. Gauls
>Vaegir
>Cheiftain Vercingetorix

Equipment

The Arabian Empire: Basically the same as the Sarranid Equipment, adding in the Camel/War Camel
The Nords: The same weaponry as the Nords already in WB, maybe with some extra Viking weapons.
The Roman Empire: Roman Weapons (The Gladius, the Spatha, Pila, Javelins, etc), Armor (Legionnaire Armor, Squamatas, Hamatas, Greaves, etc), Shields (The Square, oval, and early (or board) scutums), and other general Roman Age items.
The State of Lacedaemon: Spartan Weapons (The Hoplite Sword, Laconian Sword, Bronze and Iron Doru's, etc), Armor (Cuirasses, Spolases, Chitons, Greaves, etc), Shields (Ancient Greek Aspises/Hoplons. All sorts since the equipment of the time was expensive, and not all Spartans had the Lambada Hoplon.), and more.
The Gauls: General Barbarian Weapons and armor.
The Mongolian Empire: The general weapons and armor of the Khergit people from WB, with a few OSP items added.

Mods I plan to add...

FormationAI Battle Kit (FormAI)
Pre-Battle Order Deployment (PBOD)
Diplomacy
and more whose names I accidentally forgot.

That is really all for now, once this hits it's first Beta release I plan to post some Screens, the finished troop trees, the added features, and much more.

Let me know what you think! If this turns out to be popular, I will try to make another mod in the future, much, MUCH bigger than this one.

Aye. I'n mot too sure on the new map, but the renaming cities will come after the troop trees are done.

I need to find a Warband Map Editor before I can mess with the map though.

Thanks for the suggestions! :green:
