.45 Patch Released! Readme in file!
This is the Single Player Version of Imperium Graecorum!

The year is 623 A.D.
The world is set one thousand, three hundred and seventy seven years ago within the historical time line of man otherwise known as Anno Domini Nostri Iesu DCXXIII.

The stage is Rhōmanía (The Eastern Roman Empire). The lands of the Romaioi or 'Romans' have suffered greatly from the ravages of war with the Persians to the east, prominent ancient cities such as Jerusalem and Antioch and Alexandria have succumb to capture. Yet in the midst of all this strife a cloud is forming in the West. A Barbarian horde of Scyths who claim the prestigious name of 'Avaroi' grow stronger and more demanding with the passing of each new year. Ton Graikon 'the Greeks' have but one hope and that hope lay with their Imperator, Herakleios looked to as though a savior after assuming control some years back upon supplanting the tyrant Phocas. Herakleios has initiated a campaign of retaliation rather than war of attrition over lost provinces. With strategic diplomacy and he has sown a new treaty with the Avars in order to turn and plunge deep into Persian territory in attempt to strike at very the heart of the enemy.

For the Romans to regain supremacy of Mikra Asia (Asia Minor) they must not spread too thinly their forces, nor place all eggs into one basket (so to speak) while being shadowed on all sides by those with an eye for the Imperial fortune.

In this world you will find all manners of men and their Gods. From the legendary Kings and their Queens who rule over the cities of old to the warriors and wandering tribesmen of the steppe, to the wisest of the magi in the East... there will be much to keep you engrossed with epic drama yet to be realized...

 Imperium Graecorum (v .45)  » posted by Biggy on Jan 07, 2011, 11:58:48 am
Instalation and all about it's fine, but in-game it's different. I don't know if it's reason cause of historical acuracy. But the armors, weapons and troops are so low! I really dont like Roman soldiers in your mod at all! Everythings looks like some native based mod of some starting modder. Only thing what i like is map, but let me quess its not your work :)
Excuse my bad english and i hope, you guys will improve this mod ALOT!

Armors and weapons are low?

Anyway, keep in mind that this is the first version, and that the Romans aren't western Romans, they're mid/late Eastern Romans.

Yeah, that "low" means, small quantity and quality isnt better. Like i said: " I don't know if it's reason cause of historical acuracy". I truly don't know how late Eastern Roman soldiers looked, but i just think, yours look terrible! I really don't mean you have to do them like from early ages.

Yes we do, because that's when the mod takes place. There's no fancy gladii and pila here. Eastern Romans adopted many armors and tactics of their enemies. They generally gave up their western arms and tactics around ~400, ~500 A.D., and adopted their own new ways of combat, and new armors and weapons. They aren't traditional Romans, and generally a very falsely portrayed civilization, throughout the video game industry.

Thank you for your very non-constructive subjective criticism.

I have to agree.I mean i have read about romans and sassanids.Seen pics of armours on the net but this are not even close. And what happened to the sassanid cataphract? Those are soldier names i haven't even heard of.Sassanids cataphract should be dressed fron head to toe in mail armour even the horses were very well armoured. But in this mod they don't even exist. So i have to agree. Thanks for taking your time to make this but this just isn't worth it.

There are problems with the animation of the horse. Is there a solution for this?

Thank you for the answer!

OK i joined this site just to commet on this mod, now this is a great idea, there are so few games about roman times that are rpg, and there is some thought put into this mod, but not alot, this mod is just horrible, unplayable, i wanted to enjoy this mod and tried to play it. But my horse seems to like to float in the air so that makes combat harder and my soldiers just stand there when a battle starts and get picked off easy, they dont charge the enemy, the BASICS of the game no longer work and that is just sad, this mod is a peice of shit, if only the BASICS were fixed I think it would be one of the best mod on here, sad that its not done right.
