Description
This is the second update for the second release of Warsword

Just copy over and enjoy

You will need to start a new game

Changes:

Mapfix:

Thanks to good feedback we had alot of info on where parties got stuck on the map. Del went at it hammer and tongs and now the vast majority of the hotspots have been cleared away. You may still get the occassional stuck party but nothing like before.

Bretonnian heraldry:

You1 showed more love to the Bretonnian faction in this update. Bretonnian fans would have noticed that whilst the infantry troops have their lord's heraldry on their armour and shields, that knights have their own individual heraldry. You1 has pretty much doubled the amount of heraldry in the mod to 83 different kinds.

Changes to the special items:

I have added about 17 or 18 new special items into the game so you have a bigger variety of choice for yourself and your companions. Also Markas is no longer alone, his brother Cyrus has also turned up and is also selling items for the same stipulations of level 15 or 5 tourney medals. If you want to buy melee and ranged weaponery you will have to see Markas and if you want to buy armour and shields you will have to see Cyrus. The face of Markas is finally fixed too.

Faction specific merchants:

Del's brainflash has come into fruition. In the tavern of each main town of every faction is a merchant who sells merchandise specific for that faction. You can tell who they are as they will be showing off their best gear and also they will have " the merchant" in their name :|

The goods do not refresh like normal merchants but there is alot in them for your needs and you can of course still buy from ordinary merchants. The Dwarf, High Elf and occassionally the Chaos merchant can appear in glitchy positions but no matter what scene entrance I changed it to they wouldn't move, also sometimes goods I put in the inventory don't show due to inventories being maxxed (the amount of squares on the screen isn't equal to the actual limit) but I think you will be 90% happy with what I have done.

Stat tweaks:

I have made a few stat tweaks here and there, noticably to the flintlock pistol and the nightmare health (although the mesh glitch remains for now) as well as other troops and items. Other areas include the strength requirements of Orc gear and also the intelligence ratings have been lowered on lower level companions.

Some armours have been reduced in price and most noticably I have lowered the price of mercenary armour and helmets to give players access to a cheaper range when they may need it at the start.

Beastmen gear is now lootable so you can become a beastman through loot if you like.

You can now loot food and goods from the bandit parties:

I figured that as bandits make a career out of robbing farmers of their goods it is a bit weird that when you enact your retribution on them that they have no goods on them bar their weapons and occassionally armour. So I have now made it so that you can loot goods and food from them.

Tournaments and quests:

I noticed that crossbows and bows were about as strong as a nerf n-strike with the previous stats and the ability to wear proper armour so they got a bit of a boost.

Also the amount you get for completing the caraven delivery quest from the guildmasters has increased because to be fair they can be a bit of a trek.

Also I have jazzed up the "nervous man" now, no longer is he wearing crappy clothes and wielding a low end sword

An addition to the Vampire Counts troop tree:

The Vampire Counts troop tree was slightly small and slightly underpowered compared to the other factions so there has been a new addition to the tree in the form of the "Ghost" troop. These troops are the souls of dead Empire Greatswords who have been corrupted by the underworld and sent back to the living plain to reek havok on the world they were so viciously taken from.

General touchups:

The bug has been fixed where you have to retreat if you get knocked out even if your troops win the battle.

Some grammatical errors all over the mod have been addressed, the chaos marauder raider party issue has been fixed, troop weapons have been addressed (such as mounted marauders) and a missing Saurus body has been added.

Hope you enjoy the update.

Glad you are enjoying the mod. There are still places on the map we need to work on but this mapfix makes the world alot better, especially in the Dark Elf corner.

I have been playing this mod for days, my girl friend is worried. >.>...but I have noticed a few things that could use some work. Kingdom management is pretty buggy. You can't name your faction, you cant give villages to lords, you cant recruit anything from your faction's villages, some of your lords have no banners (only the first guy I got did). It would be really nice to be able to make peace with other factions (them treat you like a king, assuming you have enough rep or land or whatever). Recruiting other faction lords would be cool. Promoting certain lords to Lord Marshal would also be awesome. Could you also include alliances?

Also in the battle command system, I could only make 1 regiment. I couldnt make any other battles using other heroes.

Could you guys include mercenary camps, where you could recruit beastmen or goblins, and buy their equipment?

When I took over the orc faction, I got prisoner trains full of orc, and orc warbands (they didnt convert to my faction - undead).

When I take a castle, the units inside are always greatswords, no matter my faction culture.

The "fixed" wars, don't take affect for a while. I'm not entirely sure what they are to begin with.
Could you make the factions start with realistic faction relations? (and include an option to lock factions or not)

That's all I can think of for now, thanks for the game again, keep up the amazing work. :green:

Yes Kingdom management was a last minute addition, you were supposed to be able to name your kingdom though, that is a mistake. I am sure Kingdom management will be improved in future releases. We had to put it in in some form though because with so little lords with property in some factions you can be well down the pecking list to be given a castle or town. Atm it may be buggy but at least you get paid for what you win yourself

I don't use the battle command system but I think a companion has to have at least 2 in tactics before they can lead. You would be better off asking in the main forum thread for clarification as other players may use it and know it well.

The fixed wars thing didn't work quite as intended but what it did I think was drastically increase the chances of war happening between the two. In my game not all perma wars were alive at the start but within 2 months they were all raging and when one did make peace they were at war again within 2 weeks.

Thanks for letting us know about the greatsword thing.

Hi your mod is really awesome, but I just have 1 problem: I canĀ“t kill anything smaller than a human. All my weapons pass through them without doing any damage. Also other enemies don't do damage to them either. How can I kill them.

Whenever you take over a city and make it your own, your faction is called "unexisting string" instead of your character's name. It also seems that you can't recruit in villages that you own. This obviously will become a major problem when your down to the last faction since you would ahve to rely on garrisons and tavern recruitment to refill the ranks. Thanks in advance for looking into these problems

Still the best mod.

Better late than never.
For all mods that I`ve played in both Mount&Blade and Warband this Warsword is still the best and the most playable and replayable. For the sheer variety of different factions, items, armors and weapons for them all. B-) No other mod, including Shogun and Kengeki for Warband, can offer so much that this one alone. Although some minor bugs the mod is rock stable, the races looks really different and after several months I still can`t decide which one is the best. And that makes me :-x , hehehe. For they are all very good. The ogre mercenaries are awesome brutes and I can only hope to see the main hero as one, if you can add such race.
Well, I just wanted to say big thanks for you magnificient work. I would be overjoyed to see and play with any other race that you may wish to add (especially some demons, please, please!). The only mod that eventually may surpass this one could be Warsword for Warband  .

Sincerely yours
V.

Does anyone know where I can find a mod that has werewolves in it? There was a mod called blood and I can't find it. I find something called Rust the Wheel (a.k.a. Blood) I wanted to find the original blood mod...?
