1. Donwload it

Step 1.- Download the latest version (currently v1.391)
Step 2.- Double click and INSTALL IT

Import, writte your install rute: "mountblade warband\Modules".
Steam users should extract it in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\mountblade warband\Modules".
If you can't find the "Modules" folder use the Search function. If you already installed Brytenwalda and want to make a clean install, delete the old folder, DO NOT OVERWRITE IT.

Step 3.- Now the game is starting, you should see a loading bar at the bottom, and after that, the Play Tutorial, Start New Game, etc. options. If it is possible START A NEW GAME.

Now you'll see a screen that reads "Wait three minutes". The game has not frozen (yet), it may take 1 and 3 real life minutes to load, just be patient. I know, I know... in three minutes you can crush dozens of bandits, but we must wait a while.

Now, you should be fighting your very first combat in Brytenwalda, so enjoy it and good luck!

Pushed against the coast, the Welsh are fighting for every inch of land, but are too divided, dreaming of the return of a king to unify all and lead to the final victory, they dream with an incoming King Arthur. But Arthur is dead, and all eyes look to Cynddylan, the king of Pengwern, brave as a lion, but unable to join under his banner all the other kings.

And Gwynedd, a fertile kingdom in great warriors, is silent, unable to hear the sound of the advancing armies threatening their land. Gwynedd cry to Great Cadwallon, scourge of the Angles and Saxons, who has left a son, a King 3 year old.

In the snowy lands of the North, fight the Irish, Dal Riata, and the Picts. Their kings share blood, but the Irish are invading in land of Cait, kingdom of the Picts. The Picts, with their faces painted and their female warriors, are now united under one king and they are stronger than ever.

Across the sea, in Ireland, Domnaill mac Aedo, of Ui Neill´s clan has emerged as High King in Temair after defeating his enemies. Multiplayer features:
- Add complete multiplayer system in Brytenwalda.
- More than 31 factions to choose from.
- More than 150 troops for the player. What do you wish to be? a Saxon, an Irish, a Pict, a Dena pirate, a Frisian... you choose.
- A lot of New multiplayer scenes with max detail, ready to play.
- Multiplayer items.
- Ambient sounds and sound effects for multiplayer scenes.


Fatigue/stamina system:
- New Staminabar
- You lose stamina when running, attacking or defending.
- Weight (armor and weapons) affect stamina, slowing you down.
- Athletic skill improves your stamina recovery each 4 seconds.
- If stamina is low, you get penalties and you can't fight.

- Random weather system.
- Shield bash for multiplayer
- Fire arrow in multiplayer. You can burn scene props, and destroy several of them. You can burn other players.
- Banner - banner is used to recover the health of allies nearby.
(This means new tactics, because if doing formation around standard bearer, and protecting him he can heal team members.
On the other hand: kill standard bearer of the enemy is high priority).
- Horn - to add morale to your allies.
- Warcry and battlecry in multiplayer.
- Critical strike

Single Player:
- Bugfixes.
- New items
- Improve terrain for battles
- New shield animation
- Optional downloads for 'smaller' PCs.
- Fatigue/stamina system (optional)
- New Staminabar (optional)
- You lose stamina when running, attacking or defending.
- Weight (armor and weapons) decreases stamina.
- Athletic skill improves your stamina recovery each 4 seconds.

hey idibil..
i will play the mod when it's finished but may i ask how you mod the game?
i know that edit mode doesn't do it right?
could you tell me the software and site?
i'd love to start modding this game... i'd even send you the early versions! to see what you think

I played it and... it seems to crash a few minutes after i press the start a new game button... on the loading screen
this is a huge annoyance as i was looking forward to this
is this current version an update to the base mod?

hey again... it finally worked after a few times, so that's good!
i really like the mod it has a great map that looks like britain which i like! (as i am british!)
but i have to say that the timezone- the 7th century feels a little bit limited as to what you can get as it is almost 600 years before the actual game and when crusades etc. started!
i think your team shoud be working on a century that gives you space and plenty of scope...

my cons are:
the names of the factions and places- although realistic and traditional can be a bit mind boggling sometimes and it is hard to remember certain places, also the amount of factions doesn't help either... all the names seem welsh to me! - i think you can imrove this by making certain factions more memorable and give each faction a specific colour, this would help greatly!

and there is a bug where you can't go to the armor marketplace because the game crashes due to a "plate armour not loading"

the mod is also probably the hardest mod i have ever played! something is a little odd with the small spears...

other than that the mod is great a lot of good points, but this is why this is still a beta!

Also for some reason my game crashes after about 2 minutes into a battle? do you know how to fix this?

but all the best and i hope this mod turns out great! you should think of applying to work for taleworlds! :-D

You need donwload 0.96 and it should run well (bugfixed). You try download it here (i have change it today) if you wish complete.

I like crusades, but i love dark ages. If you look timeline in mod game, you meet a beautiful world, savage and violent.

On how to make a mod, you need visit talesword forum, i recommend you begin with Jik guie:

In game when go to town,marketplace armor merchant some armor items are missing,their fields are empty and game crash. What need to do to fix this?

I think that it have download or unrar bad. Can you donwload complete version 0.96 (this download) and overwrite brytenwalda folder?

I'm receiving lots of script errors, is it normal? It mostly happens in the campaign map but also in battles.

This mod looks really great. I love the setting and the time period, and can see a lot of potential here. That said, it still needs a lot of work.

My primary complaint is that the spelling and grammar are both absolutely terrible. It's painfully obvious that the modder is not a native speaker of English, and that's alright. It just really needs someone who IS a native speaker to go over and revise/rewrite it.

Other than that, all I can do is nitpick--the custom battle characters don't have weapons, some of the text from Warband is left over in the custom battle screen, on the campaign map deer are represented by a cow, the deer don't behave believably at all, and so on.

Again, the mod looks great; it just needs a considerable amount of work in the language department.

No, have you install other mod that affect native files?
Other option is that you have lose somefile to copy folder.

Mm, Wilson have work long in language, he tried give it "old style", can it be that problem? If you are native speaker english, and you wish, you can say him that words/sentences is bad, for that he look it.

Sorry, single campaing was change, but we havent "renovate" custom battles. I try look it before final release if time let me.

You need have patient, Brytenwalda is most slow to load (there are 31 kingdoms, a lot of lords, ladies, etc...), you have wait 3 or 4 minutes when you are in launching screen for create your character. (when you load savegame, you havent wait yet)

Thanks for your reply, idibil. I haven't changed anything in native and I'm sure that I did everything the way it was meant to be done. It's not the first mod I installed, but I wasn't having these problems with the 1.127 version, I'm not sure what is wrong with it.

Anyways, it's the greatest mod I have ever played, keep working on it!

Mines working perfect thanks... Gameplay seems quite hard though tbh... Fighting with swords etc seems slow and the aiming with bow n arrow is crap even with maxed skill... But all in all, great mod.. One of the best I have played... 10.5/10

I downloaded the file and it works now :green: and may i add, this is the best mod yet to come (i play alot of mods) good job, and you respond fast aswell.

I have also noticed a lot of textures missing in the armors, when you are looking at certain angles you can see black blobs on diffrent armors and also, how do you recruite bandits into your armys?
