Step 1.- Download the latest version (currently v1.391)
Step 2.- Double click and INSTALL IT

Import, writte your install rute: "mountblade warband\Modules".
Steam users should extract it in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\mountblade warband\Modules".
If you can't find the "Modules" folder use the Search function. If you already installed Brytenwalda and want to make a clean install, delete the old folder, DO NOT OVERWRITE IT.

Step 3.- Now the game is starting, you should see a loading bar at the bottom, and after that, the Play Tutorial, Start New Game, etc. options. If it is possible START A NEW GAME.

Now you'll see a screen that reads "Wait three minutes". The game has not frozen (yet), it may take 1 and 3 real life minutes to load, just be patient. I know, I know... in three minutes you can crush dozens of bandits, but we must wait a while.

Now, you should be fighting your very first combat in Brytenwalda, so enjoy it and good luck!

Pushed against the coast, the Welsh are fighting for every inch of land, but are too divided, dreaming of the return of a king to unify all and lead to the final victory, they dream with an incoming King Arthur. But Arthur is dead, and all eyes look to Cynddylan, the king of Pengwern, brave as a lion, but unable to join under his banner all the other kings.

And Gwynedd, a fertile kingdom in great warriors, is silent, unable to hear the sound of the advancing armies threatening their land. Gwynedd cry to Great Cadwallon, scourge of the Angles and Saxons, who has left a son, a King 3 year old.

In the snowy lands of the North, fight the Irish, Dal Riata, and the Picts. Their kings share blood, but the Irish are invading in land of Cait, kingdom of the Picts. The Picts, with their faces painted and their female warriors, are now united under one king and they are stronger than ever.

Across the sea, in Ireland, Domnaill mac Aedo, of Ui Neill´s clan has emerged as High King in Temair after defeating his enemies. But it isnt more than a prestigious title that recognizes him as the most powerful of the island. Around him, clans are fighting for land, women and cattle in fratricidal wars. The war in Ireland is endemic.

Multiplayer features:
- Add complete multiplayer system in Brytenwalda.
- More than 31 factions to choose from.
- More than 150 troops for the player. What do you wish to be? a Saxon, an Irish, a Pict, a Dena pirate, a Frisian... you choose.
- A lot of New multiplayer scenes with max detail, ready to play.
- Multiplayer items.
- Ambient sounds and sound effects for multiplayer scenes.


Fatigue/stamina system:
- New Staminabar
- You lose stamina when running, attacking or defending.
- Weight (armor and weapons) affect stamina, slowing you down.
- Athletic skill improves your stamina recovery each 4 seconds.
- If stamina is low, you get penalties and you can't fight.

- Random weather system.
- Shield bash for multiplayer
- Fire arrow in multiplayer. You can burn scene props, and destroy several of them. You can burn other players.
- Banner - banner is used to recover the health of allies nearby.
(This means new tactics, because if doing formation around standard bearer, and protecting him he can heal team members.
On the other hand: kill standard bearer of the enemy is high priority).
- Horn - to add morale to your allies.
- Warcry and battlecry in multiplayer.
- Critical strike

Single Player:
- Bugfixes.
- New items
- Improve terrain for battles
- New shield animation
- Optional downloads for 'smaller' PCs.
- Fatigue/stamina system (optional)
- New Staminabar (optional)
- You lose stamina when running, attacking or defending.

Thank you for your images and bugs. I've run into many others.
Is there a specific bug thread for this game as in most other games?

Sigh. I've been at it for a week and realize that there are so many bugs with combat that using cheats are inevitable.
F4 and control-h and control-x and reload.
It's good not to be too serious about this game.
The setting is astounding and it's a wonder why so many developers make fantasy worlds when this story needs to be told.
I believe the developer team only has the tools to keep enhancing the setting and tweak the edges of the core game.
Immersing yourself in some encounters, reflecting on the experience and understanding history is the best outcome.
There will be no way to solve the wild west of early England without the massive use of cheats or enormous amounts of wasted time.

By just searching rgl, I located a recent file in my documents/Mount&Blade Warband
This is also where you'll find a text file for your main characters that you can import into any warband game I believe.
It's easy to edit your stats here and import in the character screen.

i love warband and that mod ,
because i live in uk since 7 yrs (i'm polish)and i've seen some places from brytenwalda like Hadrians Wall or Dun Troddan Broch , for me Din Tagell looks like Dunnottar castle

sorry mate but i'm not gonna play star wars or kengeki mod
just i can't understand why someone is making mod with stupid options like rights to rule and everytime with same bugs
i know that mod is huuuuge and has lots of features , best mod , actually this is not just mod , this is new warband !
but people say so many times about exactly same bugs , i found all this bugs above long time ago , and they are no fixed , instead that ....new textures
i start play brytenwalda probably sixth time from new just imported characters , opened few businesses like winery and brewery , and now i can't play because i can't send stupid gift to my girlfriend or lords , and when i freed one mierce lord from dyfed dungeon
dyfed faction is still happy , but i have war with east engla and airgalla instead
i understand east engla -they have war with mierce , they can be angry i freed enemy , but airgalla :?: :?: :shock:
they haven't any pacts with dyfed or war with mierce , why they want fight against me then? just like that?
this is probably another bug

i changed my culture for engle and i can still recruit ailits (britons?) from my villages
what i suppose to do to sign any pact with other kingdoms? i dont have that option except peace of war :-(

This game is mostly entertaining fantasy as well. Maybe if the bugs were fixed then we could call it real, but even then it would have little to do with what England has become.

If I were trying to forge an English identity, I would
1) Find a fruitful career that you can be proud of
2) Read the great english philosophers: Bede, George Berkeley, David Hume, John Locke and the great Poets of the 15th -20th centuries.
3) Watch youtube and historic movies on old England. There are many.
3) Wait 5 years and then revisit future revisions of this game when the bugs are worked out and computers are better.

i uninstalled all other mods , brytenwalda and warband and installed both again
proper 1.143 warband - steam version and 1.138 brytenwalda , and ... still no option ''send a gift '' but ... textures look little bit better (maybe i'm just gettin mad ?)
and even i uninstalled and installed game and start play from new , all my settings (battlesize/textures/sound) were exactly same as before
instead that i've got steam in my system now and i'm takin photos using F12 ( over 100 after two hours gameplay) :green: :green: :green:
and game crashed once when i tried speak with the abbot at Mynyw (maybe my computer fault , because next time was ok)

do i need something special to use ''send a gift'' ?
that option disapeared for me in Imperium Romanum 1.335brytenwalda but when i start play again it fixed itself

Maybe this can be a compatibility problem or diplomacy problem.
However, if you are using wagon feature, you dont get send gift.

For rest
1.38 is very stable version. Some minor issues, but it is very stable for near alls player.

i disabled shieldbash AI, shieldbash player, bleeding as well , maybe thats why game is so fast ? but i always disable everything , in every version and never before this happend to me
i can't understand whats happend with my mod but i'm happy and i can really enjoy :-P :-P

Can you try what happens if you replace your Bryt music folder with the Native folder?

What changes when you enable or disable the shield bash?

try change vitual memory as well
i've changed to :
initial size : 6656mb
maximum size 8192mb
minimum allowed 16mb
recommended 5757m
currently allocated 6656mb
it can helps ,but that isn't solution as well
if my virtual m. settings look stupid for anybody , i don't care , my laptop and i'm doin what i want .

I have a little problem here. My download worked fine but when Im supposed to install the game it pop up a window that says something like said error coruppded and I get to choose from ignore try agian and cancel. Ignore works but it seems i must click ignore on every file. pls help! this seems to be an awesome mod.
