Step 1.- Download the latest version (currently v1.391)
Step 2.- Double click and INSTALL IT

Import, writte your install rute: "mountblade warband\Modules".
Steam users should extract it in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\mountblade warband\Modules".
If you can't find the "Modules" folder use the Search function. If you already installed Brytenwalda and want to make a clean install, delete the old folder, DO NOT OVERWRITE IT.

Step 3.- Now the game is starting, you should see a loading bar at the bottom, and after that, the Play Tutorial, Start New Game, etc. options. If it is possible START A NEW GAME.

Now you'll see a screen that reads "Wait three minutes". The game has not frozen (yet), it may take 1 and 3 real life minutes to load, just be patient. I know, I know... in three minutes you can crush dozens of bandits, but we must wait a while.

Now, you should be fighting your very first combat in Brytenwalda, so enjoy it and good luck!

And Gwynedd, a fertile kingdom in great warriors, is silent, unable to hear the sound of the advancing armies threatening their land. Gwynedd cry to Great Cadwallon, scourge of the Angles and Saxons, who has left a son, a King 3 year old.

In the snowy lands of the North, fight the Irish, Dal Riata, and the Picts. Their kings share blood, but the Irish are invading in land of Cait, kingdom of the Picts. The Picts, with their faces painted and their female warriors, are now united under one king and they are stronger than ever.

Multiplayer features:
- Add complete multiplayer system in Brytenwalda.
- More than 31 factions to choose from.
- More than 150 troops for the player. What do you wish to be? a Saxon, an Irish, a Pict, a Dena pirate, a Frisian... you choose.
- A lot of New multiplayer scenes with max detail, ready to play.
- Multiplayer items.
- Ambient sounds and sound effects for multiplayer scenes.


Fatigue/stamina system:
- New Staminabar
- You lose stamina when running, attacking or defending.
- Weight (armor and weapons) affect stamina, slowing you down.
- Athletic skill improves your stamina recovery each 4 seconds.
- If stamina is low, you get penalties and you can't fight.

- Random weather system.
- Shield bash for multiplayer
- Fire arrow in multiplayer. You can burn scene props, and destroy several of them. You can burn other players.
- Banner - banner is used to recover the health of allies nearby.
(This means new tactics, because if doing formation around standard bearer, and protecting him he can heal team members.
On the other hand: kill standard bearer of the enemy is high priority).
- Horn - to add morale to your allies.
- Warcry and battlecry in multiplayer.
- Critical strike

Single Player:
- Bugfixes.
- New items
- Improve terrain for battles
- New shield animation
- Optional downloads for 'smaller' PCs.

i reinstall mb warband,then again unrar this mode to the modules,again start and again i got warning "hlsl_data_handles[45] is not valid. When start game my character is there but his armors and weapons is above him. i have warband 1.127. if anyone can help then help :)

It look a old issue, native problem. I was reading it in talesword forum.

hi there, i have 1 bug,when it comes the WEEEKLY BUDGET,the table its in blank and i cannot continue the game :-( ,even the option CONTINUE not appear,can you please check that?,by the way awesome mod.thx

he already fixed that look at the Comments above....

First of all- awesome mod, maybe the most promising for WB!!!
Care for suggestions?

- There seem to be problems with the weapon's balance: they cause too less damage. I mean, five arrows in an unarmoured man's chest to bring him down are quite frustrating and not realistic- even with a shortbow. (for example)
And it's not possible to hit enemies with ranged weapons when they're using shields. Even from shortest distance I was not able to send an arrow into one's legs bearing only a small shield- simply "unhitable". This is extremly frustrating in the final combat of a tournament- when facing an enemy with sword an shield and being armed with bow and arrows and a knive! Not the slightest chance...
- In tournaments some of the NPC's sometimes seem to be distracted from something outside the arena. They even don't pay attention to the player's char when he's the last opponent but hold their shields up and throw their spears in direction of the spectators :-D
- How about tearing down those "water bridges" between Ireland and England? I hate to see my party riding over water like in other mods. Traveling between the islands only by ship would be more realistic and challenging. And there would be a greater motivation to buy a ship.

Once upon a time, i dont remember his name, but he was a npc standing in tavern, near other npc named Nekas. So he provided some task to do, so i done it, then i gone back to tavern, and when i started to talk with him, there was a menu item which confirms - that i have completed task, so i pressed once, got xp, pressed twice, got xp, and this was repeatable for infinity. Menu item didnt disappear when i pressed it.

How i can attract bandits, my honor < 0, then ?
How i can create skirmish units?

Weapons balance - we are work it :)
Tournaments - this is new. I will look it.
Water Bridges - it is for npcs. Warband dont let npcs use ship, water bridges are necesary. You look it like a travel. If player wish go most fast, or looting and land wherever he likes, he buy a ship :)

-Are you use version 0.91? It should is fix here.
-You need very down honor and reputation.
-Hire spy unit in tavern.

Ok after playing for like 12hrs I've found:

Battles: there's seem to be a problem with commands ( units sometimes don't follow or are slow responding)
Archers are crap, shields are too strong to brake ( maybe thats realistic but if u could make something like npc dropping the shield after a lance attack), heavy armor its almost impenetrable without a couched lance), coulnd't find a 2Handed sword or anything else with piercing dmg

All this makes the battles ok while on horse but too difficult if you are on foot.

I killed everyone in a castle then it was not given to me or my faction ( it stayed as the enemy castle even when It was empty)

The mod looks nice but yea still beta, needs some more fixing.

Take it easy tho.

I decided to register just so I can post on this MOD :)

Best mod I've tried so far! Keep up the good job!


Something I noticed:

During Siege, When I approach the commander and tell him to leave and I won't bother him, he agrees but nothing happens. The garrison is still there. I will attack the castle and kill everyone, but the castle doesn't always become mine. I still have to siege it again against 0 defenders! And I keep doing it until the castle switches. Kind of annoying :P

When I capture a castle and become king, I have a problem with destroying factions:
1) I have completely destroyed one the factions, but within a day I get a message that says "Restoration" and some text with it that doesn't make much sense but what it does is it restores the destroyed faction by making one of my lords turn into that faction.
2) After the "Restoration" i get a "Betrayal" screen which turns one of my lords against me and changes his name to something stupid. I can tell this is a bug since the name of the lord is the same as a text screen that showed in the "restoration", see screenshot 2
3) My most loyal lords just leave. What it seems to do is make one of my lords (and all fiefs he holds) into the destroyed faction (which resurrects with all lords). I destroyed this newly resurrected faction, but another lord defects and restores it.
4) Also screenshot 3: The message says that a lord will join me, but he leaves me and changes his name the message, see screenshot 3

Thanks you. We had some problems with Restauration system. Finally we had eliminate it for next version.

Siege -
Commander problem - Is it possible what you have lord party in castle?
-Attack castle - it is know problem. We are work it for next version :)

Yes, I noticed that if a Lord is present in a castle i'm attacking, then the castle won't surrender even if they agree to surrender. But if a lord is not present, the castle surrenders right away

I'd say leave the damage that weapons do to armor alone. You don't actually expect a butcher's knife or a seax to go through mail do you you? I've also found that you don't need a 2h sword to do major damage. A tempered Irish (short) sword moving much faster than many of the other swords in this mod does perfect damage. So again you don't need a lance or 2h sword to kill a top tier troop. Other than fixing the many bugs mentioned above I'd agree to making the shield a bit weaker (not a lot weaker) and making it so that a lance can heavily damage wood shields and pierce mail armor or knock a shield from an opponents hand. Also make spear thrusts more deadly to mail wearing soldiers (because mail doesn't stand up to thrust attacks well). Make archers more lethal (depending on the arrows of course).

We had improved combat system for next version, We agree with your findings.
