Description
[Last updated 12.29.13] Mount & Blade and Mount & Blade: Warband tweaking made easy! TweakMB provides an easy-to-use interface for activating and modifying gameplay tweaks in Mount & Blade. This includes things such as modifying tournament bet amounts, village improvement build times, party sizes, and much more (see below for a complete list). You can make as many modifications as you want within the program, then save all of them at the same time.

Using TweakMB is very similar to modifying the module text files manually, but TweakMB automates the entire process (meaning it's much easier and faster to use), and also reduces the chances of user error. The pre-release versions contain only a limited selection of tweaks, but the number of tweaks supported will continue to increase with future releases.

Installation
Extract the downloaded .zip file to any location on your computer, then run "TweakMB.exe". That's it!

You will need to have the .Net Framework 3.5 installed, so if you don't have it, go grab it from Microsoft's website (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=21).

What mods does TweakMB support?
TweakMB will load any mod you throw at it, provided the appropriate text files are present in the folder. See below for the current list of mods that are explicitly supported. If a mod is not listed below, you can still load it using TweakMB, but some tweaks may be unavailable depending on the mod.

4.061 (08.25.11)
  • Crashing issues with Brytenwalda 1.35 and 1.36 should hopefully be fixed (note: if you already used the previous version of TweakMB to modify your Brytenwalda files, you will need to restore your original, unmodified Brytenwalda text files from your "TweakMB backups" folder and then reapply your tweaks, otherwise the game will continue to crash!)

  • Added support for Brytenwalda 1.335 and 1.36
  • Several miscellaneous bug fixes

  • This is primarily a fix (hopefully!) for the "overlapping panels" issue some people were experiencing
  • You may see some other half-updated things, as part of the next "real" release is already in the program (sorry, it's kinda ugly right now!)
  • Battle continuation for Warband 1.143 has been updated and should work more cleanly now
  • The defaults listed in the tweak descriptions are being updated to include default values for both Warband and WF&S

4.02 (07.31.11)
  • Compatibility update for Warband 1.143. An update for WF&S will be coming soon.

  • Enabled WF&S tweaks for food consumption, mercenary contracts, prisoner recruit interval
  • Updated WF&S battle continuation to work with wagon fort battles (I think...)
  • Updated faction names on faction color tweaks to reflect WF&S names

4.00 (05.04.11)
  • Added very limited support for With Fire & Sword. Most WF&S tweaks will be disabled until the module system is released, but a few tweaks do work.
  • New system for updating ammo amounts. Items will be read dynamically from item_kinds1.txt and populated into a data grid for modification.

This program is AWESOME, so nice and easy!

But one question is up - will it be updated and are there any future possibilities for making it updatable by users? (Mostly interesting concerning Warband)

You will want to get the most recent version of .NET Framework, which as of right now is version 3.5.

TweakMB will be updated on a regular basis, especially now that Warband is out :green: There will likely be at least one new release every week (if not more) as I get more and more tweaks added.

Allowing users to add their own tweaks is certainly a possibility, although it's probably a ways off. It's one of those things that sounds easy on the surface, but is actually fairly difficult to implement successfully.

Excellent utility. Great work!

However, I have an issue. When I created a mod using TweakMB, it broke the first quest somehow. When I attack the 4 robbers, win the battle, collect the loot, and exit, I get the message that the Robber leader has somehow managed to escape. So I can't get the location of the robber hideout and can't continue with the quest.

I've had no problem completing the quest with Native at all. But after three tries with various changes using TweakMB, every one has been broken.

I hope you can figure out what's wrong. Thank you.

Rohan, i think you should discuss this issue on forums where these tweaks were found.
Another time big thanks to kefka95 for updates.

It would be great to add such tweaks for WarBand as - make price of prisoners be valued depending on their status/skill (like peasant should be much cheaper than vaegir kinght), and a period between ability to hire prisoners, if this is possible.

Good luck with coding!

I got the same problem, but additionally, I find myself unable to capture any units, be they lords or regular enemies, after a successful siege every time.

Asgar and Rohan - Thank you for pointing out the issues with the capture rates. The release I just uploaded should correct that. As it turns out, TweakMB was reading the correct value for the Warband tweak, but it was writing the value based on the vanilla M&B tweak (whoops! ). It should be working okay with the current release though! Please let me know if you come across any other issues.

Both of these tweaks can definitely be added, assuming I can get them successfully ported over to Warband. I'll try and get them into one of the next few releases :hammer:

Sorry mate, but the same problem with the robber leader escaping still seems to occur in Warband. Also, the option for the tavern keeper to buy prisoners doesn't appear in the conversation with the tavern keeper. But thanks for the program and good luck with working out the kinks!

Are you sure you're using the most recent version of TweakMB (should be 0.41 or 0.42)? I just started a couple of new games with some random TweakMB modifications, and the robber leader talked to me after the fight like he was supposed to each time.

You were correct about the tavern keeper tweak - it looks like it was changed after the last patch. I just uploaded a release that should correct this (v0.42).

I just downloaded the latest version of TweakMB (0.42) and the robber leader still manages to escape everytime. I reinstalled Warband and patch it up to 1.104 if thats any help to you. And the tavern keeper still doesn't have the option to buy prisoners from me.

Great program! Seems the tweaks have converted over well, for the most part.

One problem I have ran into is the party moral option is greyed out. Now at some point, it was not.

Continue reading for explaination or ignore:

I started messing with the scripts.txt following the magelords links to increase army size and moral in a copied native modular folder. Unfortunitly the result I was encountering was unsatisfactory (Unit names not showing up in causulties report, moral from food was doubling where recent activities was showing negitive, etc...). I figured I messed up some where so I went in search for an app to do this for me. Scripts.txt replaced with backup and TweakMB installed. TweakMB didn't recognize the party moral in the copied folder but did in the Native folder, same script unless I messed up yet again. But here is where I can say its not my fault. Wiped MB off my machine and reinstalled fresh (Messed up the default banners without backups or using "Native/Texures" folder!). Made a new copy of Native and now TweakMB wont recognize the Party Moral in either.

I've just used v. 0.42 to create a mod and it's working great. The robber leader is captured and I can sell prisoners to the tavern keeper. No other problems encountered so far. Thanks kefka95.

Are you using a clean copy of Scripts.txt when you make the modifications (ie, one that you haven't tried to modify before)? The "bad" version of the tweaks may still be on your first Scripts.txt file, which would explain why it's not working. That's the only thing I can think of. I've tried it several more times myself with no problems, and it seems to be working for other people.

The other thing to keep in mind with the tavern keeper thing is that you have to actually have some prisoners before the option will come up. However, I'm guessing the old tweak was still on your file and that's why it wasn't working.

If you still can't get it to work with a clean copy of Scripts.txt from 1.104, let me know and I'll have you send me your file so I can take a look at it.

Are you using Warband 1.104? The tweak was changed when they patched the game to 1.104, and the current version of TweakMB is setup for 1.104. The morale tweak won't work in any earlier versions.

Wow, ok, it seems right as I downloaded TweakMB Steam Updated it to 1.104 when I closed the game to edit and run the new script hence why it wasn't grayed out at first then minutes later was. Talk about retarded on my part. And no doubt you released a new version right after I downloaded it! Funny, yea, its working, thanks for pointing that out!

Haha sweet as mate, I was using an older version of scripts.txt (stupid me) but everything works great now, super thanks for this!
