Description
NEW PROJECT

Lots of colours at the moment. Rudementary normal map (made from scratch) Horses added to troop types, so now there is lots of variety on the battlefield. Different breeds are different sizes. Horses are all currently BAREBACK, they have no tack and armour, I have not made it yet. Do not download if you are looking for a complete version, this is an early test version at best. Download and see for yourself.

Just extract everything to a new module folder, call it "Better Horses" or whatever suits you. Launch with Iron Launcher. Should work. Unless I've forgotten something..

Hello Sarrie. Im trongar. I've used others horses yours, in my mod Matriarch 0.3 Ribhinn of Ribhinn, of course mentioning your authorship. These new horses are a beautiful work of meshes and textures. I have only one problem: loading, a message: that the brf is a version that does not accept the game. I have tried in various ways, but does not work. The funny thing is that the two brf editors that I have (thorgrim and OpenBrf) open well. Although the editor
Thorgrim also shows windows with warnings.
Can you help me please or tell me how to fix?
I wish I could play with your horses.
Thanks

Are you trying to use this with Mount&Blade or with the Warband expansion, because this is made for Warband and will not work with the original game as far as I know.

Great work on the horses. I noticed a problem right away though when I downloaded and installed it a few days to a week or so ago.. My character had a Sumpter Horse before I put the files in where they were supposed to go and all that, and when I got back on the game my Sumpter Horse was INVISIBLE! :hammer: It was hilarious, even though scary. Curious, I unequipped and re-equipped the Sumpter and it said something about not finding sumpter_horse in the BRF.

So, I went ahead and popped it open with OperBRF and the sumpter horse was there, named as just sumpter. I renamed it to sumpter_horse and it works fine now. Just giving you the heads up in case that wasn't brought up before.

The sumper normalmap doesn't match up with the sumpter main file, and looks really bad in game. Unfortunately the sumpter's texture and normal map are unique compared to all the others, so I can't even fix this myself by replacing it with another.

Like this project so far! It seems you have a few rigging issues (you probably knew that), especially with the tail. Perhaps you can try adding a few more bones in the tail region, and edit the animation to make use of them....

Also would love to see the concepts you are drawing from for different types of barding :D

Do you still continue this project? I do rig the tail so it won't clip with the legs again. Thanks for sharing the horse. I'd like to use it on my mods.
