what are the most important tools, you need to make your own mod?

also there is good and easy tools like itemeditor (for put items and add change stats )
and troopeditor for change troops inventory party`s and so on

I am new to this and I am having trouble making any programs work. not sure which mount and blade I am suppose to be using, or if it works on the all.

The mount and blade editor and the brf editor don't seem to work. not sure were do I put them into?

I was on editor mod on the game itself. and tried to change the terrain. it has copy and paste. am I suppose to copy that some-place?

Just basic problems getting certain things to work properly. not sure which ones to use and which ones not to use.
