1257AD Middle Europe v. 2.0

1257 AD Middle Europe is a mod based on Central Europe in the high middle ages. It's a historical mod, trying to reflect the situation of Central Europe in 1257 as accurately as possible. It started out as a sub-mod for Frederic Anklin's '1257 Edition', but with the new development team, it's now released as a fully independent mod, with many new features.

Additional music collection (works with any mod) by Raudentius: http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=1945

Faction List:

•Holy Roman Empire
•Kingdom of Bohemia
•Duchies of Poland
•Kingdom of Hungary
•Russian Principalities

Other features:

•completely new (and HUGE) map of Central Europe
•added a lot of settlements you can plunder/conquer/rule (HRE has 13 towns alone)
•troops, kings, lords, claimants, reflecting the 13th century
•a lot of new items (mostly faction-specific)
•all banners are changed

Team:

•Raudentius (creator, leader, researcher, troop editing)
•bossbob88 (textures, research)
•Martiin - unregistered (banners, artist)
•Lord Szentgyorgyi (map, coding, textures)

Credits:

Frederic Anklin - our whole mod was build on top of his '1257 Edition'
Raz - helmets
Punkt - world map textures
maw - some shields
Rus XIII Century Team - russian lords' names are from the 'Rus XIII Century' mod

We apologise if we forgot anyone, please announce us if you see your/someone else's work included in the mod, and not listed in the credits.

Why do you have to use RAR? I can't use it because winrar messes with the files.

Instal total commander, than right click on the file, unrar and everything is ok (I´m Total Commander fanatic, it´s free program). Or try this alternative link http://www.moddb.com/mods/1257-ad-middle-europe/downloads/1257ad-middle-europe-v-20

This only happens occasionally. If you keep downloading it should work.

Hi, I got a strange problem.
I enter the game and I can't move my camera on the east.. It seems like my camera couldn't cross the Danube (Duna) river - that invisible wall extends from Vucovar to Gdansk and I can't walk through it farther on east.
I can only see that there are some locations there when I zoom the camera and move it to look on the east, but can't move there.

I hope it's not how it should be and I would be grateful if someone could help me with that...

You're right, I just reinstalled the mod and everything's fine now. I don't know what it was. Sorry for taking your time and thanks anyway :)

just unpack it to the Modules folder in the folder of the game,
for example: C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules
(you have to check where you got the game installed)

Very nice work!
The mod is working good without major bugs but once after the enemys party was crushed, it was shown on the map that one unit was left, so when you attack you stay alone on the battlefield with your troops and some error shows, had to repeat attacking some 4 times untill the not excisting unit was killed :-?
The partys of all factions keep stucked when they pass rivers, you can see them all over the map
Thing bothered me the most is the extremely strong archers, if you be hitted by 3 arrows by max. you are dead, no matter what. So you cant even dear to take part in conquering a castle or town, the archers strength is exagerated.
The rest is really good.

I'm not sure we can say it's exagerated. The game is much more realistic and what fallows - exciting. Yeah, it's harder to conquer a castle or town, but do you think it was easy to stay alive on any battlefield? Someone must be defeated. Archers weren't just guys who lived to be killed by the other guys with swords. I think battles are much more interesting now.

Yes, this was my main objective, make historically correct mod as possible. Better archers to this belongs too. :-)

Well, maybe u have a point here but still the archers are the strongest unit, not even a hit from a knight makes that much damage (if not charged by lance..i guess).
So compared to the other units and all the other mods..i still think its exagerated :-|
By the way, when you place your archers in open battle behind your infrantry the archers shoot at least half the oppose army down before they even arrieve..guess thats why almost all the partys include a huge number of archers.
Nevertheless as i said, nice mod.
