Description
It's a year after the Civil War in the Western part of the United States. In the North, there are Apaches and Comanches. From the South, Mexican bandits raid American villages. Join the US Army and become an honest man or lend your hand to a bandit chief for a fistful of dollars.

1866 aims to bring the atmosphere of the most famous Western movies to Mount and Blade. More than 65 brand-new detailed and realistic firearms await you. Whether you use them for good or bad is up to you.

This is a really great mod, by far my favorite, however there is one drawback. I cant be a real bandit, no bank robbing, no shootouts in towns, no train robbery. If these aspects are in here than I dont know how to access them.
TL;DR Great Mod, Not enough criminal options

There is bank robbery, but you have to get on the bad side of whoever owns the bank. the easiest way I have found is to see who they are at war with, and join that faction as a mercenary, then choose leave faction right away (Within the kingdom option in the camp menu) As soon as you join someone the bank owners are at war with, your on their bad side and can rob the bank. As far as train robbery, I think that is available as a scenario, but I have only played campaign.

Ok. Let me say again i LOVE this mod. I have played through to the end game and have a few questions/comments. Again i remind you i know nothing about modding so if i say/ask anything stupid i apologize.

The stockpiling skill - i can see what its for but my guys seemed able to use ammo of any skill level. (regardless of thier skill level)

The gamblers in the saloons - i couldnt get any of them to play black jack with me. (or any other gambling)

The saloons themselves - only the ones in the USA towns have troops you can hire from time to time. (maybe this is intentional)

When i attacked a few carriages my relationship with that faction improved? (shouldnt it get worse?)

More building options for the forts would be nice.

I so far havent been able to find any book sellers.

The relationship of the actual sheriffs as opposed to the town itself. (does this have a bearing on anything and if so what?)

The end game - I am unable to totally eliminate the cottonwood bandits. They have no territory, and at one stage i had everyone one of thier officers as my prisoner, and i get messages for both the USA (my faction), and the cottonwood bandits that they are the sole ruler of the west. (Is this because the bandits are a minor faction?)

This is the only mod/game of M&B i have ever played through to what i assume is the end game, if they are all like this fair enough.

OK, this of course adds to my previous comments. But i still love the mod, and am even still playing after the end game and enjoying it as much as ever.

I think is this IS my favorite mod.

Any thoughts on a warband version of the mod? (just curious?)

Thanks alot for the help, I appreciate it. NOW I CAN BE A REAL BANDIT!
PS: I keep getting the Outlaws and Deserters to be friendly, but I can never keep them that way for long, they will always go beck to hostile. Any tips to keep them on your good side other than helping them in battles?

Not that I have learned, Except for a few tricks. The rengade confederates will not attack you if your wearing Confederate clothing.
Also I Am not sure if it is persuasion skill or not wearing military clothing that causes it, but the imperialists now come up to me and i am given the option to tell them they are wrong and i serve maximillion and they leave.

As for just plain outlaws, i dont really know. Consider checking out the main board for this mod, the link is at the top of the page I think.

I just realized I think im addicted to this mod and one other old west based one lol

hey, i love this mod, i have been playing it for months now. But is there gonna be a new version out soon? coz the christmas hat is starting to bug me now. & I think there is a wide range of possibility with this mod, to add and change new things. Not saying its bad, i wouldnt have been playing it for months otherwise xD. it is actually my favourite game PERIOD. Mount & blade is my fav game and this is my fav mod so yea :D haha. I was just wondering, with all the historical characters, very good research, but arnt some of them in there ahead of their time? Its not a problem and it doesnt bother me but i did have to take note of it. You wouldn't of happened to have read Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee would ya? lol

This mod has been ported to Warband, and can be played in multiplayer only. It is still beta, but open for all!
