Description
I'm leaving this up for now, but I plan to take it down soon in order to work on the next version. I'll be out of the country for the summer, but if you get the RGL error "unable to open texture world_map.dds" just go to the "textures" folder, pick any file, copy it, paste it, and rename the new one "world_map.dds". This will allow you to play. However, I recommend you don't play this. Go to Star Wars Conquest or Fire Arrow instead. I'll do something better in the future.

I was going to hang out in a commercial district then bandits showed up and when i attacked one the game crashed.............

Thanks for letting me know. I've definitely been thinking about some custom music. If you are a Star Wars fan, you can add that music pac, since it comes separately:

As for the bandits crash, I'm not sure. I've found that the only time the game crashes during a battle is if one of the soldiers is equipped with an item whose mesh is missing. (If a texture is missing it just appears white or black). Do you know what kind of bandits attacked you and where?

The jawas (gypsies) are probably the safest troops and I've been ambushed by them without problems. Nonetheless I double check their equipment and the corresponding meshes.

Genova and all the Venetian cities use the scenery from Yavin IV which is quite nice, but has way too many props. I deleted a chunk of them, but it is likely that your vertex buffer got overloaded.

I'm not sure if it you were able to read the message before it shut down. But if it said "Cannont find mesh..." then that would be the jawa's fault, which isn't likely.

If it was the vertex buffer, there isn't much that can be done about that except lower the resolution on your screen when in that scenario (hit 'esc' and go to 'video options'.

Awesome md, either yours or otzhers you just put 'em up together....pls take care of bug....cs thre aresome major ofthem,like soldiers can't find the right path,stomp on objetcs etc, nad at clothe shop an error message "can't find marta_robe mesh" or sometihng like this. pls take care of them as soon as you can.....and a txt how to find te better weapons like lightsabers and other "guns"....or is it about only the looting skillafter battle ??.

Thank you, Adayy, for your encouragement and for your bug reports. I will be working on another version, and hopefully kick out all the bugs.

1) If you want to fix the bug in the clothing stores just open the "item_kinds1.txt" in the Xenon 2112 folder and search and replace (ctrl+h):

maratha_robe

and replace it with

maratha_tabard

2) The better weapons are sold by special weapons dealers that you meet in the taverns.

I thought it would be more interesting to make it difficult to attack kingdoms, but if you find this feature annoying, I´ll revamp the concept in the next version.

3) I am trying to upload a 7z version on megaupload, so it is quicker. I'll post the link when it uploads (it takes 35 hours).

Thx for the fix tip, i think it will work,but fix it in the nest version for the others,and the better weapons, yeah leave it to the "spec" dealers or only obtainable with looting, i just wannted to asked how it works :D.

Hmm, famine causing rgl errors. That is very strange. Thanks for letting me know. I'll have to look into that.

For now, try using the patch 0.23 and see if that works. Right now, I'm tinkering with it in between study breaks, so my version is no longer the version I've posted.

GREAT MOD!
there are a few errors though.

The main error is that explosives don't work. I'm sorry for my lack of information on this bug but red text shows up and says something about scene object instance. The explosions don't even show up.

Also there is an RGL error when you try to go to any kind of trade or loot screen where there are bullets involved. It says something like "could not find get_bullet". Then the game shuts down.

Gerojian armor has tons of leg armor and little body armor. Are these flipped? Also it needs 70 strength. Is this on purpose?

A couple of times it said "unable to lock vertex buffer." Is this a problem on my side? It happened during a big battle and when I visited the civilian clothes merchant once.

Colonists in towns, maybe only my own (thats where I noticed it), say "Surrender or die. Make your choice."

Characters in taverns say something like "npc8" or"npc26" in their sentence when I talk to them.

Rebel elite somethings, I forget what they're called, have no heads.

Jedi masters rush in ahead of my army and get killed easily. I know that this isn't a bug but I think they should be better because they are so hard to get.

Also the fang helmets are cool but you should try to make some wookie outfits that look like actual wookies instead of people with costumes.

Great mod! I hope these bugs get fixed soon so I can enjoy it without these distractions. Thank you.

Hi Nemery,

Thanks for pointing out these errors. Some are easy to fix others not:

I'm reposting my patch, as ver. 0.24:

It fixes the following issues:


1) The explosions do work, I just set the explosion range rather small. I set two ranges so that people who are close take a lot of damage and people who are not so close take less.

2) The "bullet" mesh is a bug that happened when switching versions. Fixed in "item_kinds1.txt"

3) Gerojian armor stats is also a bug. Fixed in "item_kinds1.txt"

4) The rebel elite helmet is a bug. Fixed in "item_kinds1.txt"

Not so easy problems:

1) The vertex buffer problems are because most of the models don't have "lod's". It's not easy to fix without getting rid of most of the items in the game.

2) The dialogue problems will be fixed in the next version. I'm writing stories and going to add lots of quests.

3) In small numbers Jedi masters are virtually invincible, since they can only be killed from behind. I guess in large crowds that's easy to do. There are not many infantry troops in the game. If you order "infantry" to hold this position, you can save them until the end. The rushing forward is an annoying AI feature in M&B that I don't know how to fix. I'll try.

4) In my story line there are no alien races...yet. Hopefully, it'll make sense on the next release (though it might be after Warband comes out).
