If you find any bugs, please report them in this mod's development forum, not here. This is a very early alpha version of my mod I am posting for help with bug-testing and/or for people who want a sneak-preview of the mod. There is still a LOT of work to be done. I have plans to alter most dialogues and quests, as well as add features not mentioned below.

Features
  • 8 Playable Races: Human, Elf, Dark Elf, Goblin, Orc, Zombie, Skeleton, and Ghost (transparent skeleton). Starting attributes, skills, and weapon proficiencies are affected by gender and race. (exact numbers may be tweaked later)
  • A completely redesigned map with 8 Kingdoms (each with expanded troop trees and equal territory) as well as expanded troop trees for outlaws and mercenaries.
  • Nearby enemy parties will now join forces against you.
  • 265 new items (85 horses, 38 helmets, 18 shields, 49 armors, 1 boots, 56 weapons, & 18 cloaks), plus several items not available in Native (including black armor) have been added back to the merchants.
  • Expanded recruitment options: 3 different recruits per kingdom at villages, hire rogues & mercenaries from tavernkeepers, greater variety of random hireable troops in taverns, and the NPC Necronus sells undead troops.
  • Tavernkeepers, Guild Masters, Tournament Masters, Ransom Brokers, and Travellers can now be recruited as companions. All have unique names or their hometown is included in their name.
  • Town/Village Walkers, Ransom Brokers, and Travellers are now a mixture of human, elf, dark elf, orc, and goblins. Town walkers in Tombstone are now undead. Merchants, Tavernkeepers, Tournament Masters, and Guild Masters are whatever race controls the town at the start of a new game.
  • Non-tournament arena fights now include a wider variety of opponents.
  • The following scripts have been added: Kingdom Management, Autoloot, Patrols, Troop Ratio Bar, and a Blackjack game.
  • Neutral location called Dragon's Death has its own tavern and an explorable dungeon featuring random encounters, treasure chests, and boss monsters (the dungeon is a WIP and will be expanded in future versions).
  • Undead now have new voices for when the get hit, when they die, etc.
  • New type of NPC, the Minstrel, will appear randomly in taverns, is recruitable, and can play music for you.
  • A new type of merchant has been added: the Black Marcket Merchant. There is one for each kingdom hidden somewhere in one of their towns. All kingdom-specific equipment has been removed from regular merchants and can now only be purchased from the Black Market Merchants or found as loot.
  • Players can now garrison troops in villages that they own.

Alpha v1.16: This version fixes a minor issue with the new undead voices. It also updates the equipment for the Goblin troops (though their lords and king still need to be updated) and adds a couple new helmets to the lower tier Saracens. In addition, there have been some minor changes to the dungeon including: new scene props; minor changes to the skeleton, ghost, and zombie spawns; and a new goblin encounter.

Tue, Feb-03-2009

Alpha v1.17: This version adds some new armors for the Saracens, goblins, and orcs; and also updates the equipment of all saracen, orc, and goblin troops, lords, and kings. It also adds a new type of NPC to taverns, the Minstrel, who can play music for you. In addition, the Dragon's Death Dungeon has been slightly expanded (new encounters and exploration rewards to come soon). Also, a bug that prevented the regular companions from appearing in taverns has been fixed. This version also includes the Horde Lands music pack to be used in conjunction with the new Minstrels.

Sun, Feb-08-2009

Alpha v1.18: This version adds 6 more songs and adds the option to play music from the camp menu if a minstrel is in your party; adds new armors and several other new items; fixes several bugs including a partial fix for the gender bug (only when referring to the payer in dialogue); adds some new encounters to the Dragon's Death Dungeon; changes the Dragon's Death map icon to the ruined village icon; and adds the option for players to garrison troops in villages they own.

I enabled the Firearms skill in 1.19, though firearms will be rare. There is one firearm in 1.19, but it is hidden. It is an early form of Arquebus called a Hook Gun, though in my mod it is called a Boomstick. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart.
:-P Seriously though, firearms will be considered magic items by the people, though any mage you talk to in the game will deny there is anything magical about them. I am getting ahead of myself however, since there are no mages or magic system in the mod YET. Firearms will however be used by pirates (also not yet in the mod).

Keedo: Hello. I noticed you mentioned Pirates who will be using guns may appear in a later mod, if so would they be using the rivers of the map?

but wouldnt that mean you would have to widen the rivers so they can get there boats along them?

So, is that what you have in mind for a future version; pirates travelling upstream and downstream in their dragoons attacking and looting with Firearms?

Thankyou Bye

No, pirates will be in the ocean not rivers. Eventually I will add another island or two and players will be able to go to a town that is on/near the shore and buy a boat. Then you'll be able to travel on the ocean and fight pirates in ship battles or sail to the other island(s).

This mod nearly 100% enjoyable to play.
But there is big Bugs that still wandering at this ur latest mod.perhaps all ur mod that i already try it.U want to know it wat that bug or mess something. If i dun write here or tell u..This problem will follow ur MOD's forever.

There is 2 type mod to play 1nd mod original type no kingdom ( u can't have vassal or lord ) 2nd mod got Kingdom type ( i mean u can be the ruler and got vassal )

Im already test all kind mod only 2 mod that really perfect to play if u wan to be the Ruler and get Vassal also lord.( KINGDOM TYPE )

The MOD is Sword Damocles - Invanders 4sf or the latest. This Guy really take care about the problem i mean the System KINGDOM TYPE.

The 2nd MOD is NativeExpansion10 also care about that problem.( KINGDOM TYPE )

Me and other my frens GAVE HUGE CREDIT for this 2 guys 10 MARK STAR.FOR MOD THAT EXIST FOR PLAYER PLAY KINGDOM TYPE.

The problem is ur KINGDOM SYSTEM need to check.
anyway ur work still the best.Well i suggest if ur mod not KINGDOM TYPE u already perfect like THE EAGLE OF RADIANT CROSS MOD ( NOT KINGDOM TYPE )

Herman, the animating undead that Necronus "teaches" you does not currently work. I really should remove that dialogue, but I keep forgetting. :-P

DevilCrow, I am not certain I understand what your problem with the Kingdom System is, but I am using Highlander's Kingdom Management script unmodified except for the inclusion of the new culture types (Morte, Dark Elves, etc). If you would like to discuss it further, visit my mod's development forum where you can report bugs, ask for help, or make suggestions:

That is very hard to say. I am hesitant to give an ETA on a final version since there is no telling what the future will hold. Chances are the new version of M&B will be out before I "finish" this mod, which means I will probably have to port the mod to the new version. And of course, when Champions Online is released I will probably stop working on the mod for a while until the "new game euphoria" wears off. Admittedly, my work on the mod has slowed down quite a bit recently for various reasons but do not give up hope. :green: Currently I am working on adding my first new quest. Nothing major, just testing the waters so to speak. In version 1.20, players will be able to be bounty hunters by talking to tavernkeepers and seeing if they have any bounty quests. These quests are nearly identical to the "Hunt Down Fugitive" quest that lords give out, but have a greater range of potential targets and have a much shorter time limit (1 week instead of a month).

The NPCs in the Red Dragon Inn named Galstaff, Picard, and Night Blade are characters from this classic skit about Dungeons & Dragons: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHdXG2gV01k
Seriously, watch the whole thing if you've never seen/heard it before. :) Anyway, those NPCs currently have no function but will eventually be tied to quests and will probably be turned into recruitable companions.

In a perfect world. Honestly though, as a hobby it's great because I am doing what I want. I don't think I would enjoy programming as a career though, because I would mostly be doing what other people wanted and would have to work within deadlines and such. I do not work well under pressure.

:hammer: Before you say anything, there is a bug with the banking system that steals all of your money after a week because you start the game with an enormous debt to the banks. I am working on a fix.
