Description
Hundred Years War mod, v5.1.

The year is 1371 A.D. France and England battle each other in the continuing struggle over the French throne, in what would become known as the Hundred Years War.

The time is ripe for men of all standings to go to war. Some will be the advisers of kings; some will rise to greatness and power; and some will lose it all.

Includes an optional install of the Anachronism Addon. For those who don't care about historical accuracy, this adds back in the plate armors, armored chargers and sallets. Knights use the heavy armor. All horses are now back to normal strength.

(Note: To install the addon, check both boxes.)

Wed, Jul-30-2008

In this port:

General port of all old content.
Entirely new map. (New as of .960)
Some of the new English troops are in, plus a dozen or so new armors.
English troop tree has also been updated.
There are 30 lords in each side now, so campaigns will be big.
To counter the larger battles and more fighting, the player will be able to have more troops per renown.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

There are several issues which I am aware of, and might or might not fix in a patch.

-Some towns scenes are wrong. Yes, there are snow towns in the middle of France.
-I have not rewritten any dialogs or renamed Companions. I couldn't be bothered, frankly. (If someone would like to do it, shoot me a PM)

General port of all old content.
All French armors are redone.
New mercenaries: Swiss Halberdiers added.(Note: I have not yet removed any old armors, although all faction troops wear the new armors.)
Known bugs of .960 version delt with: Parties should no longer get stuck at rivers, and woods battles do not bugger up AI.

Impressive mod! That map of medieval France really makes me happy! Thanks to holy developers.

Oh... By the way, I've experienced some troubles, not so serious. First I've found that King Charles V of France didn't have any model or texture for his armor... So when I met him, I could only see his head, arms and legs flying on air :( And second, some food items lost their textures and are looking like white boxes.
Of course it's not critical for gameplay, but please could you fix that?..

Yeah, I've also encountered those too. Also, it's impossible to move the map camera all the way to Lyon and the old woman skin seems to be duplicated (as in, you click next skin and it does nothing, you click again and it changes - apparently the old woman skin is there twice).
Otherwise it's an excellent mod. :hammer:

At last a M&B mod with more than a modicum of historical focus. Never played the early original but this is excellence all round, particularly the heraldry and colourful cavalry trappings, so nice to be able to distinguish friend from foe when you've been unhorsed in the middle of a scrum: which of course is why it was devised. Haven't met with Jean D'arc yet, is she there somewhere? :hammer:

:-D Wow! This is the greatest mod for M&B I've ever played! It's fantastic!
I've just helped Connetable Bertrand du Guesclin's men finish 230 english soldiers near Orleans. Our 70 infantrymans were fighting like wild beasts, argh! :hammer: And there are much more english forces behind the river! As much as adrenaline generating in your blood, yeah! :hammer:
P.S. Watch out for english fearsome longbowman snipers! :-D
P.P.S. The problem with lost textures for food items is easy to fix: just overwrite "objects.dds" in the module "textures" folder with the same file from game directory "textures" folder. But I still haven't any idea about king Charles V...

I only remember one person in hundred years war, that is Joan of Arc. I really wish we can have a quest to rescue her. my suggestion is that we can add little more historical event into the mod. I will be very excited if I got a chance to change the history.

What ammo does the flint lock pistol use ? I am using it and its saying "Have no bolts equiped" or something along those lines.... Just woundering what if any ammo type there is to use ??

with me the factions never declared war when i took a castle and then i joined the french and the english attacked the castle they did not declare war :-( so i decided to finish the english all by myself i took every soldier i had from the castle and recruited more men resulting in 312 my charisma 999 i used troop editor and i took every town and castle from the english and captured about 8 lords once the had nothing they declared war on the frech? i wated 40 days for them to declare war i the beginning so i attacked how do i get them to declare a war?

Awsome mod! unit size lvls nicely im just starting to be able to take castles myself.

P.S. seeing 20 lords follow the king of England and taking 5 castles in a row = Awsome

I had the same problem, they said they were not at war with anyone. but I downloaded the hundred years war patch, because it was a bugfix. When i tried it they were at war with eachother. but im having a problem with one of the quick battles. They all work great except one, Siege attack 1. whenever i start it, none of my troops move, then about five seconds later the game ends and says 0 kills, 0 deaths, ect. could you help me?

Cabeliero, you have to do alot of tasks for the king of the faction, until you get like ten renown. or, you can go up to a party of the faction you want to make eneimies with, and say, "I am here to deliver my demands!", then your friendlyness drops with them about 30 point, and next time you see a battle between france and england, you can rush to the aid of the facion you are more friendly with.

Yeah I totally agree it my absolute fave! Great work! And all the names geography is so freakin realistic, seems like you put a lot of work into that mod and it :hammer: OWNS :hammer: :-D Would be a good idea to be able to sail :!: to tha channel islands and england ( :idea: think about for a future version :idea: ) with the sailing mod (wich is unfortunatly not for v1.011 :-( ).

How can you train Genoese Crossbowmen or German knights from captrued/hired peasants? :?:

But when i started playing i discovered the terrible background that doesnt make the game any better. I can hardly read the text!?

Hello everyone, I am very new here, I just purchased the game a couple of days ago via a steam price cut, but I was just curious, I am trying to get this mod to work, I downloaded it and clicked to install, then it tells me that I have to make sure it's in the right file path. Then another error comes up telling me the mod was "created for version 0.1011 of mount&blade while you appear to have M&B version 0.808 installed." then it tells me I need to update or something, I do have 1.011 installed, and am confused if there is something I need to fix or what?

MONEY FROM THE TOWNS ERROR!
hey everybody...just start this mod and its fantastic.Great job indeed! ;-) But there is some thing that MUST be changed...you see I conquer Angers, its mine and...wel surprise...no money from the town?!! :evil: got already 4 payments from my village and none from my town....really disapointing. :-( I do not posses any castle so dont know if this is just town problem.

RIVERS TRAP BUG
And another bug...Army of AI Lords can be easily trap in river. I found six of my allies on one side of the river moving animatoin but they cant get out...and I trapped band of 10 enemy lords on the bridge.I can pass by and they cant get out.

The game often dies abruptly during battles (which are not particularly big), often after one hour of game play. It says virtual memory limit overload and pagefiles limit exceeded etc.

Never happened in the vanilla mod. Anyone who a fix?

Great mod, but 1 bug (yet) though, the english squires horses somtimes disappears, so they ride on air. nothing big, but it can make him look like a foot soldier, and when u find out he is actually cavalry, it could be to late, as i experienced.
