Barrel script is a script engine which can execute code stored into map files. The engine must be built into the module and after that you can create some special map specific scripts and compile them with a provided compiler into the map file itself. The scripts in the map will then only be active in that map.
Barrel script brings a lot more power into map creation. You can move anything anywhere by using any usable object. Or you can create nice rotating windmills by periodically rotating the windmill flaps (or the whole windmill, if you prefer it that way). Drawbridge is a simple feature, teleporting doors can be used to have an interior for buildings. With some effort, you could even create usable economy into the map to allow players buy items and build structures as long as they have enough money.
Better yet, you are free to merge it to a mod as long as you mention the barrel script in credits or similiar location. Installation should be relatively easy and also flexible.
One quite heavily scripted example map is included in the package. You can add it to your mod for testing either manually to the module system files, or you can use MapPackApplier to add the map after the compilation.
